The Taper That Wasn't

Following this playbook, the Fed will likely maintain the pretense that tapering is a near term possibility and that it has a credible plan on the shelf to bring an end to QE. In reality the Fed is stalling for time and hoping that the economy will inexplicably roar back to life. Unfortunately, hope is not a strategy.

RealClearMarkets - The Taper That Wasn't

The next two FOMC meetings are scheduled for October 29-30 and December 17-18. Nothing will change through the end of the year. Too much politcal fighting over funding the government in October and the Fed won't ruin anyone's holidays in December.

I like the author's description of the Fed path as being one
of "continuous obfuscation"; thanks for posting Shorebreak.
