Consumers’ Addiction To Branch Banking Hard To Shake

There’s been a great deal of debate about the future of branch banking as declining transactions and increased adoption of electronic channels have left many brick and mortar locations on the chopping block. If branches went away, what kind of impact would this have on the typical banking consumer? More than you might think.

I prefere a branch because I had a bad experience with an ATM withdrawal and have never used it again. I want a branch mainly for our checking account.  When it comes to CDs, I go where the best rate is even if we have to drive miles to get there.  I just recently discovered a great experience.  Penfed did the CDs by telephone and did an ACH transfer from our checking account and all went great!  I got the CDs I wanted and no driving or spending money for gas!  I would love to find more banks or cus who would do it this way for other CDs I will be needing when those I have mature.   I have finally joined others in the 20th Century!
