Dont Forget About Your Pets When Planning Finances

Thursday, March 13, 2014 - 4:38 PM
If you are an animal lover and have pets you should remember to include them when planning your future finances. Owning a dog or cat is expensive especially as they get older and if you don't have the resources maybe you should not have them or at least have a backup plan so if you became incapacitated or could no longer care for them financially they will be taken care of. You do not want to be in a situation as these people found themselves.

FAR:  Thank you so much for your post.  The Pet Humane Society in our city is desperate for funds just to provide food, litter boxes and medical care for their pets.  They had to collect box tops to use for all the litter boxes they needed for their cats since they could not afford so  many litter boxes.  So many people forget that animals need financial help to keep surviving.  If one does not have a personal pet to be concerned about, I do hope they would consider leaving "something" to the beloved pets at their local "No Kill" Center so the animals will be allowed to survive.  In fact, I would urge pet lovers not to wait until they die to do their part for saving these animals.    They give "us" such joy and companionship in our lives.  Please don't forget they need "our" help to keep on surviving.  Thanks!
