Your Credit History Can Cost You When Insuring Your Car Or Home

When you open a new deposit account (example, a CD), financial institutions do credit inquiries(both hard and soft), which are considered new applications for credit.   So if you open new accounts around the time of your insurance policy renewal, you may pay a bit more.
