Denton Area Teachers Credit Union (DATCU) is offering a $100 gascard when you open a checking account with recurring direct deposit of $250 or more.    The gascard is mailed once the first deposit has been made and the credit union has verified it.  Note that you must call the credit union to have the deposit verified.  

Checking accounts require only a $25 minimum deposit to open, and feature free online banking, free bill pay with E-statements, free check card, 50% off first box of checks.  Some of the checking account offerings pay interest.  The Absolutely Free checking product has no monthly service charge, no minimum balance requirements, no limit on debit or checking transactions.   For members 60 and over, an Honor Society checking account features no monthly service charges, interest earned with no minimum balance requirement, one free box of checks each year, and free cashier’s checks, money orders, and travelers checks.  

A minimum deposit of $25 is required to open a share account.  

The gas card offer is not on the bank’s website and runs through the end of July.  

You can also earn a $50 gascard for referring a new member, using a coupon included in a recent newsletter, which is available at the DATCU website.  

DATCU, which is celebrating its 75th year, has a 5 star health rating DA, and 5 stars on Bauer.  The FOM (field of membership) includes anyone living or working in Denton, Cooke, Wise, Montague, or Clay Counties or the city of Coppell, anyone employed by or associated with one of their business partners, or related to a member associated with one of their business partners.    It has an excellent reputation in the communities it serves and the staff is professional, helpful, and friendly.
