I actually had a great experience at Clearview Federal Credit Union, but after I moved it was just to far away for me to bank there anymore. My wife and I had a checking and savings account at the institution. You were able to deposit money at the branch, an ATM or through their website. I utilized all means of deposit. Their website was not that great and I had trouble some of the time. The branch was the easiest to make deposits. The ATM was the second easiest. I really enjoyed theirs service and there rates were by far the best around me. The only bank to beat them were strictly online banks, which had no branches. I prefer having a branch to go to if I need to. They would send me a birthday card on my birthday informing me that they had a gift for me the next time that I come in. It was not something big but a nice jester none the least. They also offered discount tickets to local attractions just for being a member. Clearview Federal Credit Union is a great institution.
i have been a member of clearview fcu for YEARS! i joined when they were piedmont fcu, then it switched over in the mid '90's to clearview. i have both a checking and a savings account with them and until i started paying all my bills online, i wrote all my checks off of this one checking account. they have no fees, so i can keep as little money as i want in each account. they don't pay much in the way of interest, but no fees makes up for it. i still use them for some of my monthly online obligations such as giving and insurance payments. whenever i call customer service, i get a real person quickly and they are always helpful. wouldn't give them up for anything.
I first started with Clearview federal credit union when I was a senior in high school. I opened a checking and saving because my father was also a member there. It was a student account so it was free of any fees or limits. This was good for me, as they also offered scholarships. The customer service is ok, it is a small bank so it is personal, but it is not always the fastest. They have added and online banking app where you can deposit checks and get instant updates. They also allow me to withdraw from PNC atms 3 times a month since they are limited in the amount they have. Overall it has been a good experience but I may move to national bank soon.
Clearview Federal Credit Union makes saving easy. They provide all of the information that you need to put money away for the future. The customer service reps are always there to assist with whatever you may need, and the participate in an ATM network that allows you to withdrawal money at many ATMs for no charge.
I chose this credit union because I was tired of banking with banks that did not care about my needs. From my experience with credit unions of similar sizes, this is is a standard credit union. They pride themselves on customer service. I opened a checking account with them and have to keep $10 in it to keep it open, though I use it as my primary bank, so I am not worried about going below that. I deposit my funds into my checking account and have no issues with it. The process is very simple and there are no fees associated with my account. However, if I do need to visit the bank, there are not many locations around and the hours are hard to work around. The hours are general bank hours, but without the ability to just stop by an ATM if need be, as they do not have many ATM locations. Overall, if you're looking for a credit union focused on its customers, this is a great choice. As we all are members and essentially run the credit union, they really do have the best customer service I've ever experienced with a bank or credit union. However, if you're looking for convenience, the hours and locations are not in your favor here.
I was recently paid for services with a clearview check. When I called the bank to find out what the fee is for a non member to cash a check with proper ID, their answer was that they will not cash it, I have to deposit it and wait. This bank is setting new standards for scumbag banks when they won't honor their own checks even if funds are available. I urge everyone to refuse to accept clearview federal credit union checks given this dirty organizations policies.
