I absolutely love my membership with the Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union. Their products are designed so that they meet the needs of both our military and civilian citizens and they offer membership to all even if you are not affliated with the military. They have an excellent option for those who are in need of a checking account but have had trouble in the past as well as various types of loans and they even offer automobiles for sale and discounted ticket prices for a well known amusement park in the state and for various consumer services. Customer service is beyond grand; customers are greeted upon both entering and leaving the bank. This is truly a customer and community oriented organization and I would recommend it to everyone.
Overall, my experience using Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union has been fair. Customer service in-person at this credit union has always been excellent; all my questions are answered thoroughly and the tellers are knowledgeable. There are a few things I do have an issue with. One of these is the fact that the credit union is not conveniently located. There are two branches, but they are both a little difficult to get to. The website is also not very comprehensive. I had trouble in the past locating information about my account, including the account number when I first became a member. I was not able to find this even after logging in, and had to call the office. Aside from that, rates and dealings within this institution have always been fair and acceptable to me.
Current member who would have given an overall 5* Rating except for the low certificate and savings rates now being offered. Customer service, locations, and web/mobile access are exceptional.
We applied for an IRA and were made to send over all necessary paperwork, including a $40 fee for joining some military group. We jumped through all their hoops and waited. Not getting a response, we called a few times and were told each time (by different people) that our application is in the system and would be processed shortly.
When our old IRA was about to roll over, and we couldn't wait any longer, we called one last time and this time were told that our application was denied a week ago (the very day we sent it in). We could have used this time to find a different bank but now it's too late.
These people are inept and HUGE time wasters. It wasn't just one employee who had no clue what they were doing, it was all of them. Don't be taken in by the high returns they offer -- you'll regret it.
Love Ft Bragg Credit Union for the most part but truly hate that on any given day they only have 2 tellers - 1 for the drive through and 1 for the front counter open for business. They have the space and they certainly have the NEED. I usually go to the Raeford Rd location and it is a nightmare to get any transactions done because the line inside has 10 people waiting for the 1 measly teller. If that teller is a newby and has a question they have to call the drive through teller over to assist . If you try to go outside to the drive through you're sitting behind 5 vehicles and praying that the inside teller doesn't have a question. This is on a daily basis! Not fair or good service to it's members and certainly not fair for the poor 2 tellers that they are being worked to death with a long line of folks. Forget Fridays..... it's ungodly! Same 2 tellers with twice as many waiting members ! You'll be waiting upwards from 40 -45 mins just to get to the window. PLEASE PLEASE!!!! hire another teller.
