3.49% 49-Month Liquid CD at McFarland State Bank in Wisconsin - Local Only


McFarland State Bank is offering a special 3.49% APY 49-month liquid CD. One of the liquid features includes the ability to make additional deposits of at least $500 any time during the term. You can also request a one-time bump-up in the rate. The new rate will be based on their current 48-month CD rate at the time of the bump request. Minimum deposit is $10,000, and the maximum balance is $250,000. It's also available as an IRA CD. This promotion doesn't seem to be listed at the bank's website. A reader emailed me a scan of the ad that was in the 5/29/09 issue of the Wisconsin State Journal. I've posted the scan at this link.

It appears that a branch visit is required to open an account. The bank is located in McFarland, Wisconsin which is in the suburbs of Madison.

The bank has strong ratings for safety and soundness: 4 stars (excellent) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 12/31/08 financial data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1934 (FDIC Certificate # 2476).
