I have been dealing with online banking for years now and transferring my money from one to another depending on the interest rate being offered. I had an Affirm account already but they had raised their interest rate on their Savings account so I transferred more money over to my Savings account.
They have since FROZEN my account basically treating me like a criminal, like I have illegal funds. I have called over the past two weeks and still get the answer that they are reviewing and will respoond within 3-5 days. I am Furious that I cannot access my own money! Do NOT BANK with them if you want the freedom to do what you want with your money,
afirm IS NOT A BANK !! Research them online !
affirm froze my half a million $$ on savings account and did not let me to withdraw any money for 5 months paying me minimal interest way much less than other banks. Every single time I called customer service they said they can't help me to withdraw and will open a case, or if I already called about opened case they promised to escalate it to some mysterious "next department" which has no name, no phone number no way to contact them. 5 months i heard from them "I understand your situation but I sorry, I can't help you" Eventually when I got my money back they never paid me an interest for the last month. My total loss because of the affirm was thousands dollars.
they are 100% fraud
They have frozen my account with no reason for a month, and I have not been able to withdraw my money. I called the customer service and the rep could not tell me why my account has been frozen. The rep told me he would talk to his manager and would get back to me within couple days. They have not returned my call for 2 weeks. Stay away.
If you put more that 250k to savings, they will froze your account, you will not be able to get your money back for months. Then they send your money back to you and keep the interest.
DO NOT DEAL
You will loose an access to your founds after they will freeze your savings account. You can call the customer service asking to recover your account access as many time as you wish, but all you will get just promises.
As of today they keep my $1million for several months, It is a fraud, will go to police to report.
They freeze my account with no reason. I can not get my money back for months !!!
I find out affirm is NOT a bank, but it was too late.
NEVER NEVER NEVER
I was able to close account and get money back by writing letter to FDIC. File online

Broken app does not allow access to savings. updated it, still not working. Re-installed the app and still locked out because the app does not send the verification email. They don't have a website for accessing your account without the app. Scary reviews for this "bank".
Unfortunately I am facing the same issue as some other folks. It has been 6 weeks since my savings account was frozen. I've called at least 4 times and sent two help requests to no avail. Supposedly the problem is being investigated by the audit department but the customer service agent has no direct contact with them. Complete lack of info and transparency. I have never faced this problem before. Affirm is proving to be entirely inept. I would caution everyone to stay away from this company.
I was able to open the account via affirm website and also access the account via mobile app. Also I was able to add a bank and transfer without any problems. The limit per ACH transfer is 24,999.00.
I have been fighting a charge that wasn't mine. I have contacted Affirm a number of times and each time I have to explain. They said they will investigate and put a block on my account. But yet I received an email that my account is a charge off and been reported to my credit. Total BS. This is not my account and I refuse to pay for something I did not purchase.
Customer service sucks
Affirm SUCKS! there are many better options. They are a sham and select on what they approve u for. Which is mostly garbage!
One star is generous. I’d give 5 minus stars if I could. I have great credit and purchase many things, but affirm is beyond horrible and not worth it!
AFFIRM is sending (emailing) notices or overdue payments, however I have yet to receive a statement; not by mail or email, and I don't see where to find it on their website.
Additionally, items were returned but apparently, they claim not receive notices or returned/credited item. AVOID using this group!
i just opened an savings account here through the app and it was easy. there is no access to the savings account anywhere else but the app which is good for me. ACH transfers should be sufficient for paying a few bills or transferring to other accounts as i am currently doing with other online savings accounts all of which are high yield savings but not as high as Affirm
I moved quite a bit of funds here because of the high rate on their savings product. Last Saturday my account was frozen without any reason why. I was informed of this by an email with a link to a form to fill out. Well would you know it, that link was broken. So I called and was told on Saturday they would escalate it. After 4 business days of no communication, I called and demanded at the very least a timeline. They could not provide one because they have no control or even communication with their partner bank in regards to freezing their customer's funds. On that 4th business day I demanded the supervisor transfer me to a manager, I was told they were all busy but rest assured either a manager would call me that day or the supervisor would call me back informing that the call would occur tomorrow. Guess what, no one called back, shocking right? On the 5th business day I spent an hour on the phone speaking with Brian a manager further identifying how the dynamic works with Affirm and their partner bank. It comes down to the point that Affirm has no control over how their partner bank treats their customers. If the account is frozen, it stays in that state for an indefinite amount of time, and best of all you cannot even close the account. So they can take your money and give you zero recourse to advocate for yourself.
Bottom line before you get sucked in by a high interest rate, imagine this scenario: You have $100,000 in cash in the account because you are saving for a down payment on a house. Then you find that house and are approaching your closing date, and they freeze your account and there is not a damn thing you can do, or they can do to unfreeze your account. Best of all they won't even be able to tell you a timeline, 1 day or 1 week, or 1 month, 1 year. Nothing can be done. Oops sorry about that house you wanted
When initially opening the account there was a problem with the direct deposit. Because actual funds are managed by Cross River Bank they couldn't tell me anything NOR could Cross River. It took 2 to 3 weeks to sort out. Now they have frozen my account and refuse to provide a reason why. They also refuse to tell me how long that will take. It has been 10 days. I have no issues with any accounts at traditional banking institutions. AVOID AFFIRM AT ALL COSTS
Stay away from Affirm. This is the worst bank in the entire world. They will freeze your account for no reason. And the customer service has no clues what is happening, and your money will not available for months and months. I have Never ever had such a horrible and stressful experience dealing with banks. I have always moved my money around between banks, depending on which bank has the best interest rates at the moment. When I transferred my money between Affirm in November, 2022 and my linked bank, they simply froze my account, and the customer service simply said that they have no knowledge of the reasons what so ever. Be aware, Affirm is a Scam and they will steal your money for many months!!!! I am so frustrated and stressed.
Could open account on app, so tried on a desktop.
Not an easy process.
Need to take 1) photo of yourself 2) front of ID 3) back of ID and 4) yourself with ID
After you upload all of those, it doesn't like the quality of your photos,
but you don't know which one, so you have to do all of them over.
Then after waiting for processing you get
"Based on an eligibility check, we can't create an account for you just yet."
