Membership Requirements Suddenly Different

I tried to apply today for the special "Sasquatch" 12 month CD with the 6.18% APR rate. It was previously available by selecting American Consumer (ACCC). The option is no longer there. I called the credit union and they said they are no longer accepting new accounts with that option to join the credit union. Can a bank or credit union ever have enough money? Why turn away new customers?

American Consumer Council Membership Is No Longer A Qualifier

This FCU's membership is restricted to specific counties in their area. American Consumer Council membership is no longer a qualifier for FCU membership. That was the info i received from the FCU on December 11.

So Far So Good

input ACC as my employer and had no problem getting approved (and i have an extensive list of banking relationships and been denied by the lousy unaccountable Chex system in the past). used promo code "consumer" and paid nothing for ACC membership. they didn't even ask for documentation. found the zanesville branch to be highly responsive and easy to work with (all via email) and had to change the application midstream because i knew my wife wouldn't go for their app id verification process. the 6.18% 1yr CD was extended to mid-december. one odd restriction is that external banks cannot be linked to the BH account until it's been in place 6 mo. i mailed a check to fund and bought a 1 yr cd so this shouldn't be a problem unless i want to invest more. will eventually try linking the account from the outside bank. we'll see how they function operationally, but overall i have been satisfied so far,

I called this CU because it says you can join from being a member to ACCC. Tried to sign up for membership online for their 6.18% CD The option was not available. Phoned them and after 45 minutes waiting for a representative, the rep said they will be fixing the issue on the website and to keep checking back. The only thing I see on their website is the option to join with an ACCC membership is no longer there. 2 weeks in and they haven't fixed the issue or maybe their fix is to not offer membership to the ACCC any longer.

Be Aware Your Private Info Is Exposed To 3Rd Parties At Every Step

Every step to join this CU is done through a third party apps. The initial application is by a third party website called "app.loanspq.com" from MeridianLink, Inc., to upload private sensitive documents you have to install a third party app called "ID-Pal" from Dublin, Ireland. We're in America, why does our info need to go to Ireland?

This CU does not protect your sensitive information through their own secure portal. You submit all sensitive information through a 3rd party sites. No wonder they got hacked. I agree with "ericlobo" stay away from this mess of a CU. Your private information is being passed on and exposed to too many unknown parties.

Avoid Like The Plague

We tried to open an account so we could get a CD. Their system was down at the time and we had to wait. Finally got an email saying the application looked ok and move to the verification step. They asked if the wife had her own cell phone which she does not. I tried to call over and over but got nothing but a recording saying the system is down. I emailed them asking to cancel my application. Now two weeks later I find out that they pulled a report from Chexsystem anyway. Tried to call but the system is still down. Still can’t call them. Horrible that a business operates this way.

Don't Want My $

It seems the only way I can give them my ID is to use up what little data I have left on my phone to install an app to show my ID.
this conversation all took place via email, can't talk or go on their web site it because both have been down so far for over a week and they are treating me as the one who is suspicious.. I'd give them no stars

Horrible Service

Bayer in New Martinsville Wv I have been with for 5 years and always had great service until today. I have direct deposit and keep all my money in bayer. I took a big check in to deposit and the new lady I’ve never seen before first asked if it was legit. Was very offended by her comment then asked to take 1000 dollars out of my account when she asked if I had that in my account to take as she’s looking at her computer and clearly sees that I do. I left and the money was in my account but 3 hours later I looked and they put a 15 day hold on the check with partial amounts coming out every 5 days. I also called corporate and that lady talked to me horribly then said I could go get my check and take it somewhere else like I didn’t matter. I’m not rich but all my paychecks and any other checks I have go into my account and this lady I’ve never dealt with before offended me to the max. When the check clears I will be taking every penny out of bayer and finding someone else to hold my money. So Ridiculous because I’ve always enjoyed going there they know me by name and have always been kind but you always have that one lady that hates herself and wants other people on her disgusting level.
