This Is A Subpar Bank, At Best.

I don't think this bank is as solvent as it claims to be, otherwise it would not hold your money hostage. I encourage people who have problems with this subpar bank to file a complaint with the FCID, BBB, and Fed Reserves. I tried transferring a small amount out of my account into another account that was linked to Forbright's subpar bank. The account I sought to transfer money into was the account I used to open and fund my subpar Forbright account. The next day I received a call from a subpar Forbright representative who said I needed the account to be verified even though it was already showing verified on Forbright's subpar end. After dealing with Forbright's subpar banker's, I requested to have the account closed and all of my money sent to me via check. The subpar banker stated she would have a check sent to me and the account closed. I have received numerous calls from subpar Forbright bankers saying and requesting different things. Three days later they are still refusing to release my money, even with the information I provided them that they said would be sufficient. Every time I attempt a transfer they immediately cancel it. Someone else wrote about their archaic website... the way they operate as a bank is archaic. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this subpar bank... you don't need the headache.

Trash Bank

Posted by: |

trash bank disabled my account while I still had much money inside. They gave me a number to call them so I could lift the restriction but they didn't do anything useful. In fact, they couldn't even tell me the name of the department doing it to me! Definitely close this one after I sort it out!

Decreased APY Each Month

I opened my account in September at 5.30%. In October, it decreased to 5.00%. Then in November, it's down to 4.60%. This is a SCAM. Because multiple people say they deny your transfers to outside banks.... now I'm regretting going with them. ??

Bad - They Take Your Deposit But Won't Transfer Out

Similar to others experience. I deposited funds from a couple different banks with lower rates. A few weeks later, I requested a transfer because they lowered rates from 5.3% to 5%. The ACH transfer looked like it was going through but was canceled. I have many different bank accounts and have never had the transfer be canceled after looking like it was processed. I then tried to pull the funds from Forbright through another one of my banks (bank B) and they said my account has been frozen and that is usually a sign of fraudulent activity. Bank B also froze a completely separate deposit from bank C because Forbright "froze" my account transfer... I have never had any issues with many of my online banks because I read reviews and try to weed out the bad ones... OMG this got me upset. I then called and spoke to Felishia who is very incompetent. She told me I needed to send in the top of the statement, including account number, routing number and name of bank, for all of my external accounts. I was shocked but spent the time to take screen grabs of all 6 of them. She still refused to allow me to transfer my money. I called many time asking to speak with Felishia or to get a call back and she was not available...Very frustrating! After two weeks of calling without connecting I ask to speak with someone else and they connect me with John. He said that they he sees what I have submitted but just needs to see the line item transactions of the deposits for each bank to allow me to transfer my money. So I took more time out of my day and prepared more screenshots. This was still not good enough....and at this point I was losing my sh*t. A few days of emails, being on hold, being dropped 5x (same, no apologies for being dropped). Now we are well past the funds hold period and I ask to speak to a manager and Roxan tells me I they still need to see all bank statements...I end up saying I am fed up and had to have a three way call with the external banks in order to be allowed to get my money out of this bank...VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, I do not recommend this bank to anyone.

Okay Until You Need To Withdraw Money

Opened in July, added more in Sept from bank A. A few weeks later, I requested a transfer to bank B. Received email from F to use an unfamiliar email system to read messages. A few days of emails, being on hold, being dropped 4x (no apologies for being dropped), they wanted a bank A statement to prove that I had an account there, even though they accepted that money, we were well past the funds hold period, and bank A was not a party to the transfer to bank B! I've received no logical explanation, just continued demands for it. I've lost confidence in Forbright, for customer service is that important to me!

I Tell Everyone About Forbright

I love fortnight, I’ve moved money out of other hi yeald savings to forbright because of poor customer service (NYCB/flagstar). - I love forbright

Very Good To Do Business With

I’ve done lots of CD’s and money market savings at different banks (half a dozen or so) forbright has treated me the best - I really like there high heals money market account, fast transfers (4or5 days) in and out and great rates - I have CD’s at forbright also - all good with me there my #1 go to for high yield savings - thanks forbright

Taking Excellent Care Of Me

Never had a problem with. Forbright. When a CD matured and could not deposit the money in my checking account the 10 days expired. It was my fault, I made a mistake with my account number. When I called Forbright and told them this said it was okay and deposited the money about two or three days late. I hope to do business with them again.

Forbright Growth High Yield Savings Account Approved And Loving It

After being denied to a HYSA at a local bank (Evergreen Bank Group, 5.25 APY), I wanted to test another bank to see if I will get denied. After 10 minutes after getting the denied email from Evergreen Bank Group, I have applied and gotten approved thru Forbright Bank, 5.30 APY. Both banks had identical questions, same requirements to meet when completing the application. I have no overdraft, credit score at 3 credit bureau are over 820, no credit freeze, no security freeze, pay bills on time, $0 balance on 2 credit cards and overpayment on 1 credit card, etc.

Loving Forbright Bank. For me it take 4 days out of 5 days for my money to be transfer between my bank regular saving account to Forbright Bank HYSA. Both financial institution go thru security of the money being transfer is from a real person, real account and not a fraud thus the reason it take up to 5 days for ACH transfer.

Calling Customer Service and speaking to Suki, Cat and Rhea are awesome. These ladies provided answer to my questions and more. The ladies have provided me an update with a date when the money will be available to my Forbright Bank account. The mobile app is easy to use and to navigate.

Forbright Bank is a win. I am very happy with my Growth Savings Account that I have applied and have been approved for a second Growth Savings account as Forbright Bank does not have buckets yet. After calling customer service and speaking to Rhea, I was informed Forbright Bank will be looking into having buckets within the Growth Savings account in the future

Other features that I love with Forbright HYSA Growth Saving account is you can add more than one external account to the Growth Saving Account. You can have up to 5 Growth Savings account. Since I now have two Growth Savings Account, I have three external account from two different banks to transfer money in and out. There is no fees, no minimum amount to open the account but an amount is required to be transfer within 21 days after opening the account before the account get close with no deposit. Forbright Bank have automatic deposit. The website is easy to navigate and you can see all approved Growth Saving account on one page. You can edit the Growth Saving names, for example one account is Growth Savings - Bills, another account is Growth Savings - Emergency Funds.

In the end everything happens for a reason. I am a happy customer of Forbright Bank that focus on sustainability coming from a licensed architect, LEED BD+C.

Forebright Bank

Opened 1 year CD with Forebright Bank. Year is over and now trying to move my CD to another bank. They have held my CD money for 10 days now and still have not transferred funds to my other bank. Tried calling (9) times and cannot get the funds transferred. What a scam this bank is making interest on my money while holding it in their bank. They keep making excuses for my money not being transferred to my other bank.

Good Experience So Far

Some of the negative comments here and on BBB are a bit concerning but I have had no problems with the personal HYSA after a couple months. It was very easy to create an account. Have not had to contact customer service so far and everything has been smooth. 5.3% APY is great.

Easy To Open - Not Like The Others I’Ve Tried

Posted by: |

I was skeptical about trying to open another high yield savings at one of these unknown online banks (at least unknown to me). The last one I tried (CIT Bank, not Citi) took all my personal information, enough to steal my identity, and then wouldn’t open the account without providing an explanation. However, I gotta say, opening the Forbright account was easy. Fast. With no problems. The hardest part was waiting several days for them to send the microdeposit to my other bank account I was attaching to the Forbright account. They really waited until the last moment at the last business day in the range of time they said it would be done. So I thought something wasn’t working. But eventually it did. I made my initial deposit via that account. And it showed in the Forbright account. I’ve had the account almost two months. Best rate in town. I have done everything online and have no complaints with Forbright so far. I haven’t had the need to deal with a person yet, so I can’t vouch for customer service, but that’s a good thing.

Unacceptable Customer Service

My 1 year CD came due. I filled out the docusign forms as required by the bank and got a reply that everything was accepted and my funds would go back to my external account between 24 hours and 3 days. After 4 days and no money, I contacted customer service and she said that there was some type of glitch on their end and it was not processed so it will be done between 24 more hours and 3 more days. I said that it needed to be done quicker and the customer service manager said they can not do it quicker. So I am out of my money and interest for who knows how long. .

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I applied for a high yield savings account. They said it would take 3-4 business days to "review" the application. It's going on week #2 and still nothing. I've called twice and waited on hold for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes another time. I never got through to anyone either time. If I EVER hear from them, I plan to cancel my request. BIG MISTAKE!!

Forbright Is Very Bright, Doing It Right

I opened a cd online in just a few minutes. Easiest ever. I had a little trouble enrolling the account in online banking and called CS. There was a 12 second wait. WOW! The young lady pushed my info through on the spot. All good.

New Account Opening Was A Breeze

The CD products and Growth HY Savings account are on different platforms. You have to fill out a manual form to specify where you want your funds to go when a CD matures.

The GROW Savings has worked out stellar for me.

Got Turned Down To Open An Acct Without Giving A Reason.

Saw the high rate and that they invest in green business. So what the heck, thought I open a account to support. They get all my information and after hiting the button to submit, within seconds I get a popup that they cannot open the account. It goes on to say an e=mail will be sent to me. The e-mail does not give a reason. Sound like their just connecting info on people. Stay away!!!

Forbright Do Not Allow Saving Account Open On Line

forbright has A health review and good interest for short term cd, but they require me to open saving account physically in the branch, not allow us to open on line. they claim it is cooperate decision to avoid fraud. however, this decision made me unsafe bank with forbright bank, since I live far outside maryland. at cd mature, they said it will return the money thru ach , with routing number and act number. when I open the cd, I have called the phone number listed above, the lady told me I am allowed to open saving account. after I opened the account, they forward me to on line service, I was told no. I can not open saving account on line. now I am stuck for a year, hope I can get money back at maturity. I do not like to write reviews. I am raising alert like me to be aware.
