The Pueblo Bank and Trust Company is headquartered in Pueblo and is the 13th largest bank in the state of Colorado. It is also the 1,434th largest bank in the nation. It was established in 1889 and as of September of 2021, it had grown to 142 employees at 11 locations. The Pueblo Bank and Trust Company has an A health rating.
I have been banking with Pueblo Bank and Trust for four years. They have stood by their policies and helped me greatly when my bank card was compromised. They have never tried to get me to apply for credit cards or get a business account. They have always been friendly and courteous. I have had bad experiences at my previous bank, and had to pay a large fee, just to close my account. Everytime that I contact customer service with a problem or questions, they are resolved quickly, if not immediately. I am a very satisfied customer and have remained with the bank, even after moving out of state.
I was talked into a "business" account after having a personal account for some time wherein I had no issues.
But, soon as I deposited my second business check it was placed on 10 business day hold ...really really screwed up my cash flow ( small business). SURPRISE! First deposited check cleared in 24 hrs. from SAME builder that issued to me 2nd ( main) payment. But, bank then told me 24 hour hold on first deposited check was a 1 time " courtesy".
I demanded my check back so I can get it cashed/ open an account elsewhere only to be told NO! Too late, check is in our possession and I MUST wait The 10 business days before I can have my money!

Made the supreme mistake of switching from Westerra Credit Union in Denver, a very professional, competent and friendly bank (I was a member for 18 years; never, ever had one problem there; received stellar customer service) to Pueblo Bank and Trust; what a horrible experience I've had. I was frequently given misinformation, constantly had my bank card frozen, most notably on the weekend, when you can't call Pueblo Bank & Trust to get them to fix the problem (would call bank, they'd state that my card shouldn't have been frozen, yet, had that happen so many times I've lots count). That, and I've had many employees at their bank state that they've been victim to a lot of fraudulent activity. I'm very sorry about that, however, their paranoid attitude literally will SERIOUSLY impede your ability to conduct normal business using your money, & certainly that was my experience. Also, I was consistently subjected to extremely rude bank tellers and even managers. For example, I went to close my account yesterday, 4/10/17 (I'd called ahead to let them know I was coming) and the bank manager there was so openly hostile, it was surreal. For example, she was very rude to me from the moment I got there, and at one point literally demanded - yes, demanded that I go into a meeting room to look over my statement before she would apparently "give me permission" (as if I was a very naughty child) to close my account (ran into similar instances when trying to withdraw $). She stated she'd join me in the meeting room. After 15 - 18 minutes of waiting, I came out, asked when they would close my account. She denied telling me she'd come in the meeting room and was still openly hostile, speaking to me in a sort of scolding manner; a very hostile and aggressive manner. The very weird thing about the whole incident, is that she seemed to need to control me. What a weird little b*&ch she is. Obviously has serious mental health issues; needs both counseling and some serious medication! This was one of the most surreal, bizarre experiences of my life considering that this a customer service institution treating me in this very bizarre and punitive manner. That's not even counting the fact that they absolutely WILL NOT stand by you if you need to dispute a charge (made on your bank card). I strongly advise everyone to NOT open an account with this very strangely hostile, unprofessional and inept bank.
Save yourself the time and trouble and bank elsewhere. I was traveling overseas last year and my card was continually frozen randomly leaving me with no access to my funds. This happened a total of three times in Bali, twice in England, and twice in Ireland. I let the bank know my travel dates and locations and yet my card was still placed on hold again and again. Add to that the time difference and lack of customer service it took to clear the holds. It was extremely perilous and stressful for me.
Then, when I returned home January 2017 I received a last minute notice saying they were discontinuing our banking relationship. I had to scramble to open up another account after I just spent three hours in the local Salida branch opening up a secondary checking account the month before. I spoke with one caring and understanding individual but he is moving to Arkansas which I take as an omen that there is nothing human, caring, or understanding left of this bank. I have already opened up another bank for travel as I would never use them for those purposes again but I still need a local bank and it is a huge inconvenience for them to just drop my account. They made the excuse that it was mutual.
As someone who is part of dispute with PBT over their practices with respect to borrowers and guarantors, I would advise those in need of commercial or investment loans to stay away from this bank. They do not respect the privacy of the financial or personal information they are given (please don't rely on their stated privacy policies on their website because they don't actually observe them). And they do not respect their own documents either. Indeed, they are lawsuit happy and hire lawyers to threaten their customers at the slightest sign of disagreement. Borrowers, stay away from this bank. You will surely regret any relationship you commence with them. In order to post, I have to give them at least one star, but I would recommend that you just not do business with this bank.
