How the $150 Gift Card Compares

Opening an Access Checking account is probably offers the “best bang for your buck.” Assuming $250 minimum balance (avoiding $20 in monthly service fees) in an Access Checking for six months to avoid the $25 early termination fee (ETF):

    • $250 in a savings account earning 1.00% for 6 months = $1.25 interest
    • $250 in an Access Checking account for 6 months = $150 gift card bonus

    • $250 in a savings account earning 1.00% for 2 months = $0.41 interest
    • $250 in an Access Checking account for 2 months = $150 gift card bonus, minus $25 ETF

Given the number of variables attached to the Access Checking account, there are several ways this bonus could play out. Bottom line, they all make economic sense.

The above rates are accurate as of 3/11/2017.
