More on DepositAccounts Notices

POSTED ON BY

I've mentioned DepositAccounts Notices before, but I thought it would be useful to dedicate a short post on this new feature. On DepositAccounts' front page, you can see the latest Notices by selecting the Notice tab that's on the right of the blog post tab (underneath the featured article box). The Notice section link is also in the top menu.

Notices are basically very short blog posts that cover bank news, rate changes, deal reminders or noteworthy posts at other blogs. It'll include a short summary and/or commentary with a link to the full article or post. By keeping the posts very short, I'm able to post more often. These Notices will supplement the longer blog posts.

The idea of Notices came from Twitter. I decided it would be better if I could publish Notices at DepositAccounts instead of Twitter. By publishing at DepositAccounts, I'm not limited to 140 characters. Also, each post allows readers to comment. Like blog posts, Notice posts get pushed to the blog's Twitter page.

Just like blog posts, you can subscribe to Notices. This is done via this Feedburner page. From here you can choose to receive the feeds by your news reader or by email.

If you come across a bank deal or an interesting banking related news story or a blog post, please let me know by either mentioning it in the Open Discussions Thread or by emailing me at [email protected]. If I don't have time for a blog post on it, I'll at least try to do a Notice post. Also, if you have any ideas about how to improve this Notice feature or anything at DepositAccounts, please leave a comment.
