Have done it.
Great Customer Service but a bit strange Fed Wire Operations and out of state customers are not eligible for any kind of transactional accounts.
Had to spent hours explaining to External Bank how to send Domestic Wire via Intermediary Bank.
However, Wire went thru, the FDIC Insured account was Funded and Opened.
6 months ago, would not probably be bothered

thx dougled ... yes nice find. this filled a neglected spot in a ladder. started thursday eve and finished friday am! they ask for dl and one other id doc. the csr went directly to the external account even before any test deposits had breakfast and made the transfer! opened yesterday and money shows today. terrible ewp ... 6mo ... but not an anticipated problem. so far so good.

aremesbo ... i think that's a different bank. when i first checked this one from memory [ha] i wound up calling a bank in washington .... then added ks / scott. i also already have an account at an 'ssb' bank too ... slovak. what's in a name?!

How can you have such diff ratings, an A+ from DA and a C- from Weiss? Nice find but the liquidity is too low for me.

Is this all the same bank? There are several w very similar names. Has anyone just looked at their financial statements on their webpage?

I TRY to pull the same time period for 2 or 3 of the following companies: Moodys, Weiss, Fitch, S&P. I will glance at Bauer and DA if they are easily accessible. I agree there are obvious flaws in their methodologies.  I also agree liquidity is arguably the most important factor. But if 2 or more provide a similar rating it should give some indication of how the institutiuon is doing financially. Very low liquidity is a hard no for me. When the ratings are so far apart if liquidity is bad I pass.

Just found out my son in law purchased a large sum from ssbscott.com so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the liquidity concern.

I have filled out their registration form 10x! Each time it times out and tells me to contact the bank. I have filled out the form using both Chrome and Edge with no success. When I reach out the bank on the phone they say they dont know why it asks me to contact them and provide no help. When I use the online chat I pasted the entire email with the application number included and the chat rep said they did not have that application in their system! How can that be? With these kind of difficulties in just opening an account I have decided to pass.
