This bank has 5 locations in GA. The rates page states that the rate is guaranteed through 6/30, but since we're halfway into July, it's possible that they've cut the rate but have yet to update the rates page.

But law enforcement officers might question a bank whose logo is "ABP" :-)

Deposit Quest released its weekly list of the best nationally available savings and money market accounts this morning and this account wasn't on its list. I notified Kent Jamison of this. He then contacted the bank, which confirmed that the APY is still 4.50%.

I called to ask some things and was told it's $100 to open and $100 min to avoid a $6 monthly fee. The website shows $50 to open but apparently that's an error. To me they seem a very friendly community bank not used to remote customers, as the apologetic staff didn't have answers to many questions and there were issues with the website. With their small size and some publicity now, I don't know how long a rate like this will be sustained. My gut says if someone just wants another "additional" place it's probably okay, but if someone is applying for the higher rate, I don't know how long it'll be before it lowers to where others are, seeing as they're a small community bank.

Oh, and ichaelm, I did see your post on DQ. You signed it "Mike M. Rockville, MD." Mr. Rockville, I had no idea you were a doctor! ;-)
