CEF Credit Union is headquartered in Peoria and is the 2nd largest credit union in the state of Illinois. It is also the 20th largest credit union in the nation. Field of Membership Restrictions

Membership into CEFCU is open to anyone who lives or works in one of many counties in Illinois. Likewise, anyone who lives, works, or worships in Alameda, Contra Costa, or Santa Clara counties in California also qualify for membership. CEFCU membership base consists mainly of eligible employees or retirees of Caterpillar Inc., Caterpillar subsidiaries, or Caterpillar dealerships; employees or retirees of CEFCU's partner companies; employees or retirees of CEFCU; immediate family members and household members of someone who is eligible to join the Credit Union; and spouse of a member who has passed away. Membership requires a $1 one-time fee and a $5 minimum balance in the savings account. - See Details

Review Of Cefco Credit Union

This is a great Credit Union. I have been with them many years. They even pay back profits to owners at year end. This year I got a check for 1350.00. They also have a good Visa card. Their rates may not be the highest in the country; but they are close.
