Allegent Community FCU (PA) Unveils Competitive 13-Month CD Special

For a limited time, Allegent Community Federal Credit Union (Allegent) is offering a 13-month CD Special earning 1.00% APY. While there is no end-date specified, the landing page states that the offer may be discontinued at any time. The minimum opening deposit is $2.5k, with a $100k maximum deposit per member; new money is required.

The 13-month CD Special is also available as an IRA CD Special (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same APY with the same deposit requirements.

As stated in the Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:

We may impose a penalty if you withdraw funds from your account before the maturity date.

Terms of longer than 6 months: 180 days’ dividends

There is no language in the TIS that allows ECCU to deny an early withdrawal.

There is grace period of seven calendar days before the 13-month CD Special renews as a 12-month CD..

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Allegent Community Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is primarily community-based, with individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Pennsylvania counties of Allegheny, Beaver, or Butler eligible for membership.

Immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandchildren and step and adoptive relations) of a current Allegent member are welcome to apply.

Joining Allegent can be done online or at any of five Pennsylvania branches located in Cranberry Township, Pittsburgh (3), and Wexford.

Opening a CD Special can be done at any of the above-mentioned branch locations or by calling 412.642.2875.
