9.00% 9-Month CD at a Colorado Credit Union Continues - $2K Max (Elevations)

POSTED ON BY

Elevations Credit Union
Elevations Credit Union continues to offer a 9% APY 9-month certificate. The minimum deposit is $1,000 and the maximum is $2,000 per member. A checking account is required. A free checking account is allowed for new members. Current members must open a dividend bearing checking account. My last report on this special was in March.

Since the checking account is required, you can think of this 9% CD like a checking account bouus. Having $2K in a 9% CD for 9 months would result in about $60 over what you would earn in a 5% CD.

Credit union membership is open to all students, faculty, staff and alumni association members of the University of Colorado system. Anyone seems eligible to join the Alumni Association of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Membership is $45. Residents of Boulder County who are 50 years of age and older may join the credit union by becoming a member of the 50 and Better Club. There's also a long list of Select Employer Groups. Be sure to check with the credit union to ensure that membership and not employment in an organization qualifies for credit union membership. Credit union membership requires a $25 minimum deposit into a savings account.

Branches are located in Boulder, Longmont and Lafayette, Colorado.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68565). It has $751.8 million in assets and 75,686 members. One interesting note about this credit union is that members voted early in the year to convert from a federal to a state chartered credit union.
