Liberty Bank is offering a CD special with a yield of 4.00% APY for terms of either 8 or 16 months. The minimum deposit is $10,000. An additional 10 basis points is awarded if you open a checking account with direct deposit. This special isn't listed at the bank's website. A reader sent me email on this, and I just called the bank for additional details. The CSR didn't know how long it would last.

Branches are located in Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Naples, Florida. It's a new bank that was just established in 2006. It's FDIC insured (Certificate # 58135).
