Velocity Credit Union is offering a special 4.06% APY 12-month share certificate. The minimum deposit is $5,000. It's also available in an IRA certificate. The offer is available through April 18, 2008.

Last month this credit union had a 9-month special CD with a yield of 4.32%.

Field of membership includes those who live or work in Williamson County, San Marcos, Round Rock or within a 10-mile radius of any Velocity branch or ATM (This includes the areas in and around Austin, Texas). You can also be eligible via employers/organizations or via family. Membership requires a minimum $5 deposit into the savings account.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68359). It has $426.1 million in assets and 84,706 members.
