$100 Checking Account Bonus at US Bank in Milwaukee, St. Louis and Cincinnati

US Bank is offering a checking account bonus of up to $100. A reader just emailed me info on this after he saw it advertised in Sunday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Here's the online promotion page. Below is a summary of the promotion:

Apply for a U.S. Bank Cash Bonus Check Card with a checking account and link it to a Speedpass key tag. Your first $100 spent on gas at Exxon and Mobil stations will be deposited right back into your reward account. There are two steps to get the full $100:

• To get the first $50 in free gas: Purchase $50 in gas at Exxon and Mobil stations. Use your new Cash Bonus Check Card at the pump.
• To get your second $50 in free gas: 1) Sign up for and activate a new Speedpass key tag and link it to your Cash Bonus Check Card, and 2) Spend $50 at Exxon and Mobil gas pumps using your new Speedpass key tag.

Speedpass key tag provides for a fast way to pay for gas at Exxon and Mobil stations. The offer also applies to the Business checking account.

Some important small print includes:

• Offer Period ends on September 10, 2008. Offer open to new U.S. Bank Cash Bonus Check Card customers during Offer Period only.
• Following the opening of the U.S. Bank Cash Bonus Check Card within the Offer Period, Customers will have 60 days to earn the $100 rebate.
• Offer good at participating branches in the Milwaukee, St. Louis and Cincinnati markets only.

It appears all of US Bank's checking accounts qualify which includes the Free Checking with Interest and Silver Elite Checking for those 55 or older.
