Neighborhood National Bank
Neighborhood National Bank is offering a 5.13% APY 5-year IRA certificate of deposit. Interest rate is 5.00%. Minimum deposit is $1,000. This CD special is listed on the bank's front page (rotating image) and in this promotions page as of 1/20/2009.

The bank continues to offer a special 18-month regular CD with an APY of 3.52%. I posted on this last week.

It appears a branch visit is required to open an account. Branches are located in San Diego, Spring Valley and National City, California.

The bank has fair ratings for soundness: 3 stars (adequate) at BauerFinancial and 3 stars (performing) at Bankrate. Both ratings are based on 9/30/08 financial data. The bank has been FDIC insured since 1997 (FDIC Certificate # 34548).

Too damn bad I don't have a scheduled flight to San Diego to open up one of these IRA CDs. Don't mind tying up the money for 5 years.

The flight wouldn't be a waste; my mother lives in SD. Two things taken care of with one trip....
