The credit union has a long history of competitive CD rates. My last post was in January when they were offering a 3.75% 24-month CD.
Membership is open to anyone living, working, worshiping or attending school in Austin's five county Metropolitan Area (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell Counties). Please refer to the credit union's membership page for more details. Membership requires a minimum balance of $25 in your share savings account. I've been told that Austin Telco FCU does a hard credit pull when you join.

The credit union has solid ratings for safety and soundness: 4 stars (excellent) at BauerFinancial and 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com. Both ratings are based on 3/31/09 financial data. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 4584).
