Viewpoint Bank RCA Rate Change To 3%

This is one of the last few solid 4% ones; guess not solid enough.  Pretty sad.  Guess it is almost time to be ready to run to the RCA exit door.

Just did an on-line chat with one of Viewpoint's CSRs.  She was not aware of any rate change.

Turns out the CSR was wrong--Absolute Checking down to 3% as of today

Viewpoint Bank did not notify me of this rate change.  I consider this poor customer service and will avoid additional business with this bank.

The website has dropped from 4% to 3% today September 1, 2011. It was an odd one with 15 debit card uses and paid the interest a month in arrears.

I've had a Viewpoint Absolute Checking account for about 15 months. To my chagrin, the way I learned about the rate decrease from 4% to 3% was this comment on the 08/31/2011 statement that became available to me yesterday (09/02/2011). Other than that I was not notified.

   "Your Absolute Checking will earn the high rate of 3% APY on balances up to $25,000 during September."

After reading my statement, I checked the webpage for Absolute Checking and saw that it now shows a 3% APY:

Another one bites the dust.

No notification here, either. I'd be mad but they're the 3rd bank now to drop the rate on me with no notification whatsoever, so it seems like SOP.

ViewPoint is a pretty good bank (we've been with them for years) and they held out at 4% longer than most others. Let's hope they can hold steady at 3%, which is still better than most rates out there.
