I have had my checking and savings account with Middleburg Bank for a little over 4 years now and have been impressed. At my main branch, located in downtown Purcellville, they truly have made me feel like family, many of which know me by my name (and I only visit a few times a month!). While I find their products average (for example, my checking account does NOT earn interest even with a high minimum to start - I think we I opened it, it was $500, and my savings only earns .05% right now), the customer service has been top notch and helpful, something my previous bank lacked. If you are opening accounts here, I'd highly recommend maximizing interest paid by looking into diversifying into several of their product options. We just opened 2.5 year CD's (their recommendation) and are now earning over double what the basic savings account was in interest now.
Was a Middleburg Bank member before they merged. This month everything went into effect. Today I logged in to check my balance and noticed a $15 maintenance fee. I called to ask what it was for and I was told that there is a $15 charge every month if I don't have $1,500 in my account at all times. I am closing my account first thing tomorrow morning. :)
