America's First Federal Credit Union is headquartered in Birmingham and is the 4th largest credit union in the state of Alabama. It is also the 189th largest credit union in the nation. It was established in 1936 and as of December of 2024, it had grown to 417 employees and 193,631 members at 21 locations. Field of Membership Restrictions

Membership in America's First Federal Credit Union is open to those who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Alabama counties of Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chilton, Coosa, Cullman, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, or Walker, and certain areas of Mobile County. Immediate family members of a current America's First Federal Credit Union member are also eligible to join.
