Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union is headquartered in Kingsport and is the 31st largest credit union in the state of Tennessee. It is also the 1,391st largest credit union in the nation. It was established in 1993 and as of December of 2024, it had grown to 55 employees and 12,286 members at 5 locations. Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union has a B+ health rating.

Field of Membership Restrictions

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Tennessee counties of Carter, Hawkins, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington; the Virginia Counties of Scott, Washington, and Wise; and the Kentucky counties of Clinton, Jackson, McCreary, and Wayne. Members of 24 Human/Economic Appalachian Development Organizations are also eligible to join.
