Been with this CU for years and they are the best Financial Institution I have ever banked with. Like all places they might have issues or problems, but they fix them and listen to you when you do. I love these folks. The call center is wonderful and the people seem to really care. If you want to bank somewhere and feel like a person Arkansas Federal Credit Union is the best bank in Arkansas.
I have been a customer of Arkansas Federal Credit Union for years and could not be more satisfied. I have many accounts with them, including my primary checking and savings, as well as a CD. Their CD rates are very competitive and at the time I invested were among the highest in the country. They have always provided outstanding service, either via telephone or in person. In addition, they have a very good fraud department that took good care of me when there was some unauthorized activity on my checking account. I highly recommend them to my friends and family!
When I first tried to join the Arkansas Federal Credit Union several years ago my credit wasn't quite up to where they wanted it. After building my credit score for a year I was then able to join. There's no fees for every little thing like a regular bank, and while they didn't have modern stuff like mobile checking at first they eventually did add it. If you're not a member of a credit union, I highly recommend it. But you will need decent credit.
I have been with the Arkansas Federal Credit Union for 20 years. In that time, I have had checking and savings accounts. I joined because my family all banked there. I have not been very impressed with my membership. I rarely see any "perks". My biggest problem with the AFCU is their hours of operation, and lack of convenient locations. When I need to withdraw money from my account, I must first find a location. Most of the time the ATM is not working. When I try to go inside to make a withdrawal, there is only 1 teller working and she is never in a hurry. I used to receive great customer service on their 1-800 #, but since the last upgrade to their service it is extremely hard to get a hold of anyone by phone. Overall, I have been so displeased that I am currently looking for a new financial institution.
We have been with them for over 2 years with a perfect payment history. The truck financed with them was a total loss. While waiting for insurance to pay out we were in communication with them on 2 different occasions and were told not to worry about making a payment. In the meantime payment went over 30 days. Would of made the payment but since we were told not to worry about it and they knew the situation, we thought they would take care of us. They would not waive late payment fee and reported to credit bureau. We will take our business elsewhere from now on. Just another company that doesn't care about the customer.
I was a customer with AFCU, but now I am dissolving all my accounts with them. I applied for a loan with them and they denied based on false information. Finally after receiving a call because I told them they discriminate against certain members, I was explained why they denied the loan. The information they had was incorrect info. Even though, I told them all the information they were going by was incorrect and I had paperwork to prove it. They did not even consider reviewing the information. I even had a credit card with them and that was paid on good judgement. I am dissolving all my accounts because they are not in the business to helping people of color.
