The Atlanta Postal Credit Union APCU The little bank that makes you feel special. The Atlanta postal Credit Union APCU is a blessed relief after transferring from one of those large - big box banks. Although I am not one of their large deposit holders, they make me feel like I am a special customer each and every time I come into one of their branch offices.
Since this is a small financial institution, everyone knows me and each and every one of my family members which has an account with them. If something is not quite right in my account or transaction, they alert me ASAP. The Atlanta postal Credit Union APCU has restored my faith in financial institutions.
The Atlanta postal Credit Union APCU has ALL of the perks and high tech goodies that the mega banks have for their customers. I was delighted that they have an easy to use smartphone app which lets me do my banking from the palm of my hand. They also have a wonderful check scan option on their app where I can deposit a check in my account without the hassle and expense of making a trip to their office to deposit the check. They do not place unnecessary holds on my funds and if I ever have the need to borrow money I can get funds in a pinch. I have been an The Atlanta postal Credit Union APCU customer now for over 20 years, and I do not intend to leave.
I have been a member of this credit union since I was 18 yrs old. Although the bring and mortar is located in the Atlanta area, doing business them over the phone has been a breeze. I have had a multitude of loans from this credit union including numerous personal loans and car loans. I also have a credit card with them because it offers one of the most competitive fixed rates at 9.9%. I am extremely happy being a member of this credit union and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a great credit union!
My experience with Atlanta Postal Credit Union has been very mixed, to say the least. The app and website are both rather cumbersome to use, and it's very frustrating to get a hold of customer service since they work regular hours and not much beyond that. When I had an issue with my account (my joint account owner took a large sum of money without informing me and I was trying to figure out what happened), APCU was very unresponsive to my questions. The savings account doesn't have that great of an interest rate, either. Since I have moved away from the Atlanta area, it has been very difficult to keep up with this account. I finally ended up closing my APCU account after several years of having a savings account with them. It just wasn't worth it anymore with how inconvenient it was. Keep your money somewhere where it's more convenient to bank online and get a hold of someone if there's an issue.
