Fast Response On Phone

I just called about their new 6.1% CD and received a quick polite answer. I guess it depends on who answers the phone. Also, all their Bank financial ratings are good. I was lucky I guess.

Fiasco - 5 Days Wasted

Total waste of time.

Applied online last week for the CD because the website said "Easy Online Opening". When I did not hear back within 2 business days (said I would hear within 1), sent a message asking what the next step was in my ONLINE application, expecting a secure portal to enter the funding information. In return, I got a phone call. After 3 days of wasted phone-tag and email messages being exchanged with no clear answers to whether the CD could be opened online or not - I called and was told that - *5 days after my initial application*, that they had JUST added the option to actually open it online, but ONLY if it was less than $15,000. Otherwise you had to drive to a branch. Completely infuriating and I could have had my money in another bank earning interest had I known this 5 days ago. Nearest branch is a 20 mile drive and NOT online, and definitely not EASY. Choose another bank,

Tiny, backwoods "bank" with fewer than 80 employees total, spread across five branches in hinterlands of South Florida. Unlike the major, national banks, this has NO Customer Service department of its own. Instead, you will have to deal with uneducated, emotional, unprofessional juveniles who are rude, incompetent, or both. These hick kids even make personal remarks about your "private" transactions. Worse, for ATM problems, this "bank" is so tiny and inferior they must contract with a third-party cubicle hive that clearly couldn't care less. FHB's local reputation is so bad, they have to pay a cash bonus to unsuspecting newcomers to persuade them to open an account. After one month with their constant mistakes over EVERY TRANSACTION, I'm returning the bonus and closing the accounts, since their employees' incompetence has cost me far more m time. If your time is worthless, you prefer teen angst to professional service, and you love NOT having ANY ACCESS to your own money, FHB is for you. If you're an adult seeking a real bank, look elsewhere.
