Chemcel Federal Credit Union is headquartered in Bishop and is the 115th largest credit union in the state of Texas. It is also the 1,421st largest credit union in the nation. It was established in 1951 and as of December of 2024, it had grown to 32 employees and 9,383 members at 6 locations. Chemcel Federal Credit Union has an A+ health rating.

Field of Membership Restrictions

Membership in Chemcel Federal Credit Union is open to those who live, work, worship, attend school, or regularly conduct business in, business and other legal entities in the Texas counties of Jim Wells, Kleberg, or Nueces. Membership is also open to employees or retirees of Celanese Corporation who work in or are supervised from Bishop plant, Clear Lake plant, Bay City plant and Dallas office and employees of other select companies.
