Welcome to the bank from hell. In the past months, our cards have been closed on 3 separate occasions for suspicious activity. 1. was a subscription service I have had for 2+ years. 2. An online purchase from a company I have a history of buying from, and 3. Today I purchased pet supplies again from a company I have purchased from in the past, and Guess what, our cards are closed until we can get a "code" from the bank on Monday. Thankfully we found out at the atm and not the restaurant or the gas station this time. Do not trust this Credit Union they will call you "family" in their motto then cut off your funds like they own them and act like you are too stupid to carry a card.
I was with this credit union for years, 15 or more, and one mistake lead to an overdraw, I contacted them to stop courtesy pay so I can gain control but they wouldn't on certain charges. Guess what, snowball effect right because you know fees and fees for them to collect. Then they charged the account off without giving me a chance to fix it. It didn't stop there, they moved all my bill money from the joint account I share with my husband to this account and closed the joint account. When I inquired I was told they have a right to do so. They showed no mercy and closed the chat rather that respond to anything else I said. I know it started with an error on my part but they did not help prevent it from getting worse or give me time to resolve it. They lacked kindness and did not follow their statement of treating their customers like family. I agree that they are a business and looking out for themselves, I just expected a little grace, especially since I was in touch with them. Or at the very least some kindness...they were cold and matter of fact with zero compassion. Prior to this I mostly liked the credit union. The staff was nice when I went in...then all of a sudden, I am the ugly step child of their "family." Well it's a good thing there are other options out there. I would not recommend this credit union. If you fall on hard times, they don't care, no matter how good your history with them in.
