Credit Union of Georgia

I have been a member of the Credit Union of Georgia for almost 7 years now. I am very pleased with my experience. They are always helpful and polite, and I haven't had any of the problems or hidden fees with them that I have had with banks in the past. I especially like that they monitor my activity and alert me to potential frauds. This was hugely helpful when my debit card number was stolen out of state. They quickly froze the card and refunded my money for the fraudulent charges. I have also used them for notary services, and those were also quick and easy. I love their mobile app, and that you can deposit checks without coming into the branch. As I have moved father away from any of the branches, this is very convenient.

Credit Union Of Georgia

The Credit Union of Georgia is a small credit union with branches located in Paulding and Cobb County Georgia. This credit union is reserved for employees of Cobb county and their family members, and I just happen to be lucky enough to have a mother who works for the Cobb County school district. I first opened an account here about a year ago, and I love it. The people working there are very friendly and personable, and they actually seem to care about their customers. As far as comparing this credit union to others, I really can't, since this is the first and only bank account I've ever had. However, if you're looking to bank with a friendly credit union, and happen to work for or are related to someone who works for Cobb County, I highly recommend it.

Failed In Every Aspect

I created an account a couple of months ago. The first time I deposited my first paycheck it was on hold by the bank for a month, and I had to wait 2 weeks for a card to be mailed because they don’t have the capability to create cards at the branch. After my month of not being able to access my account the added another hold on my account for 2 weeks. I was able to go into the branch and resolve the second hold as it was against federal law to withhold money from the account holder for that long. I’ve had random charges from numerous websites and subscriptions to websites such as “” and the bank finally refunded me for some of the charges. They also cancelled my debit card without informing me leading to some very embarrassing interactions. I have been waiting 2 months for my new card and have yet to receive it. The customer service representatives are limited in information and extremely unpleasant. I highly recommend using any other banking institution.

Do Not Bank With Credit Union Of Georgia.

There are many better options. Customer service is not available at this organization. Unexpected fees got me. I went in and closed my accounts and wasn’t even asked why I was leaving.
Online customer service had already failed me.

Declined For Membership.

Not only am I from the area, but I also attend a school in which qualifies for membership and they declined my membership to the credit union. I sent a correspondence requesting the reason for denial and why I would not qualify and have never received a response.

BAD Customer Service & Not Competitive

Posted by: |

This Credit Union was originally started to support Teachers in Cobb County. This Credit Union has substandard customer service and the employees act as if they do not care about their members. Their products and services are inferior. They do not have competitive investment options for the members. Teachers and Educational Administrators need to move their money to another credit union as fast as possible! Check out other banks and credit unions and you will probably see much better alternatives.

Disappointing Experience

Have been a member over 30yrs. Recently my debit card was cloned and I needed a new one quickly. They said I had to wait 5-10 business days. I waited 10 and they said to give it 12 days. Gave it 13 days and they bumbled with some other silly excuse. I messaged them twice through their website and got no response at all. Finally I went to a branch again. Told me I could pay $45 and take a day off work and they would overnight another card if I was at home to sign for it. (Never were able to tell me when or if the first card was mailed...). I declined and said I waited through their time limit and I need a card asap (as now it's been 3 weeks!). They had no suggestions for me. I said I may need to change banks to one that can issue a card in a timely manor. They said "okay" and acted like they couldnt care less. Maybe you have to make a lot of money before they demonstrate decent service?

Unorganized And Rude

This credit union doesn't offer the family friendly environment that they advertise. They are extremely difficult to work with if you miss a payment even if you walk in the door and ask for help. I received a letter with a person's name signed to it, and when I called her just a day or two later, I was told she hadn't worked there for 6 months.
