Dayair Credit Union
I love my bank, although small and local, the employees are friendly. Dayair only has 3 locations around me so it would be difficult to withdraw money while on vacation or out of town. The staff really get to know the customers because it's so small, they are always very nice and ask how my day is going. Their online banking is easy to use, especially to transfer money from different accounts, you can chose when it withdraws or transfers as well and you can set up automatic bill pay. The mobile app is convenient but the option to take a picture of your check to get it cashed is smart but it takes a long time for it to show up in your account. That's the only downside to it, but it's nice to be able to see my accounts and purchases from my app right on my phone.
Working Local
Before applying for my first car loan I had never worked with Day Air. They did come back with the best offer which is the only reason I decided to go with them initially. In the past few years I haven't had many issues with this bank aside from finding a way to pay my car note online now that I live out of state. The one time I did call to inquire about ways to make my payment the teller that answered the phone was very condescending. She told me to just make the payment at a partnering credit union, when I inquired who would be a partnering credit union she seemed like it was too much effort to give me the information even after I explained I had moved out of state and just wanted to make my payments the right way. I was highly irritated by this interaction and have only called the bank one other time due to this experience. While I was on hold for a few minutes the next time I called the teller was more friendly and helped me with the information I needed. Aside from the questionable customer service at times and the lack of a user friendly mobile app for the bank, I do like this bank and would come back to them in the future.
Dayair
Since banking at Dayair I have been impressed with their customer service. Because it is a small bank they get to know their customers and are always friendly and courteous. I haven't had any problems with my savings account other than them accidentally double depositing a check once but it was fixed fairly quickly. The only bad thing I have to say about Dayair is there online mobile banking is very outdated. It's nice that they offer the option to take a picture of your check and it will be deposited online, but it takes a long time. It usually takes a couple days, so I stopped doing that and now just go in to cash a check. The online and mobile banking makes it easy to transfer money from savings to checking accounts, you can even make it deposit or take out money every month for bills.
