Five years with DFCU. Customer service is huge with them. They are helpful and fast at the drive up window and whenever we need to call in for anything, they are always understanding and resolve our issues quickly. DFCU has an amazing website that makes managing our account simple. Their billpay feature always us to pay curtain bills fast that can not be paid online. We never get charged fees, but when the occasional overdraft occurs, they are good about reversing it for us based on our history with them.
As of October 1 2012 the interest rate that DFCU pays on checking accounts changed. Amounts up to $10,000 receive 1% interest (which is great) but any amounts over $10,000 only receive .1%. I pulled out my money over the $10,000 mark and put it into an ING online checking account which pays .8%. I am better off but it seems that DFCU might lose access to funds because of this change...
Something has changed at this credit union. Their customer service is horrible. Their web site always has a problem and there is never a warning posted that they are having troubles you just go in and it doesn't work.
More than that, they think that you should be forced to do business with them. They offer a car loan, but are quick to say, we will match any rate. Then when you get a better rate, they are not open so they can't match the rate.
If another credit union or bank will give you a better deal than your own credit union, why would you go back to them and give them your business...there is an element of fairness here.
Overall a C- institution.
Just hope no one in my family or friends read this , they are the worst customer service now. I swear i think there system is stupid now when it comes to someone who works in the army and they are your boyfriend who is trying to come home safely but he helps you out and lets you depsot his checks it into your own bank account with his phone and he never knew the passedword or username ever , and you have been with them for 4 months and no one in your family knows about it yet and he wanted to come home so he can meet my family. expect for the stupid bank doesn't believe you at all when i know his paychecks are good and wont bounce at all and he was trying to come home so he can be add to my account too. but the person that i called today didn't give a f***** care. sorry about my langue on here. If you know anyone who has family or loved ones serving you know that there paychecks are different from anyone else and there banking is different why cant the people in the stupid banking department get that through there minds. Expressing my feelings on here. If i did it in person i would of cried and start swearing at the people. And you have been emailing his work to about him coming home for weeks. and i know he is real because hes been sending me pics from real time.
