Diamond Credit Union is a local bank here in Pennsylvania. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. I haven't had any bad experiences at all. It's only 5 minutes from my home and they are open on Saturdays also, which is a big plus. Actually my entire family bank there, all the employees know us by name and you feel like family when walking in. I would for sure recommend this bank to any of my friends and family.
I use Diamond's mobile app to easily transfer money between my checking, savings and other members. The bill pay feature online and in the app are easy to use and there's always a confirmation message prior to sending the payment so you don't accidentally send the incorrect amount. The app had a few flaws in the beginning and now works so well I hardly ever use the actual bank website. I like that I can pay my bills from anywhere and if for some reason I don't have access to internet customer service is always willing to help get the payments sent or transfers done that I need. Their customer service reps are always very helpful and if you do make a mistake with your account they can give you a once a year "oops" credit to cover an overdraft or fee.
The Diamond Credit Union is a great place to bank. You will have many savings and checking needs met there along with very friendly service. When I have had questions about my account, I was able to call and have someone answer in a kind tone and explain things to me in everyday words with no confusion. I'm able to pay online for free and easily manage the maintenance of my bills using their website. Interest rates for most banks now are very low including theirs for savings, but they are reliable and good to work with even though you don't get a lot of return on your money. You don't have to deal with being charged some of another banks fees for ATM visits at another bank. It would be nice if they had longer hours being open as I often pass by and wish they were open later on the weekend, but they are open as late as 7:00 on several days during the week.
We have been with Diamond for almost 5 years and in the beginning we thought it would be a good fit. Boy, were we wrong! I am literally dumbfounded by the way customer service treats you. You can't make an appointment to speak to someone; you just show up and wait until the person you want to talk to is ready - like take a number at the deli? Their bill payer was recently changed and I've had SO many problems, I can't even begin to write them all out - from dates being changed, payee account #'s changed, it has been a nightmare to recover from - we have a business account - you can only imagine the late fees I had to deal with directly because the customer service people at Diamond would not accept responsibility nor would they cover any of the late fees. They won't give us a letter of proof of funds for our investment business and I've had to wait (literally) a half hour at times just to make a deposit at their so-called business window. This institution has the slowest service I've ever dealt with - I called about a loan 3 times and finally got a call back after 2 months and then was told I would receive a call back as soon as she came back from vacation! Unbelievable! And it's been 3 months since that call! Plus when you call, they don't have a record that you called before? Really? I don't know how this credit union gets any good ratings. Our experience has been horrible. We're in the process now of changing banks for both our personal and business accounts. I will make sure to tell all my friends, family, clients and business partners to stay away from this terrible excuse for a banking institution!
I have been with Diamond CU for over a year now with a used car loan. I had been happy until they added almost $80.00 to my car loan for some "catastrophic coverage" due to a 2 month lapse in my car insurance. My husband was extremely I'll and it slipped my mind to make the payment. To my surprise, DCU decided to really stick it to me good by raising my car payment from $303.77 to $390.00 this will last a year???!!!! Their response was that it's their opportunity because it was in the "small" print that I must keep continuous insurance cvg on the car. I do understand they wanted to protect their investment, but that is too excessive!!!!!!! I didn't have an accident as I wasnt driving the car at that time!!!!! I'm so upset cause I live on a fixed income and count every penny!!! I may have to GI he them back the car as a result, not that anybody cares about this or me and my problems. Just be ware!!!!
