First Community Credit Union is a shining example of what a credit union should be. I have had nothing but exceptional, extremely positive experiences both in-house and speaking on the phone/online. Service is always prompt and friendly. Kasasa checking and savings accounts are above and beyond the best accounts out there because of interest rates and ease of use. FCCU provides a terrific user interface online that makes money transfers and bill payments not just easy but enjoyable. Everything on the website is straightforward and clear and along with standard offerings, FCCU also provides users with budgeting tools and spend-trackers that help members keep tabs on their spending. I am typically not someone who is super loyal to any one company/brand, but to FCCU I am.
It has been a mostly pleasant experience. The initial startup was $5. The clerks are very nice to deal with. Initially there were a number of issues that I experienced with items not being credited, credited to the wrong account, and other problems. This was within my first two months of having the account. I was looking at other credit unions to switch t, but they finally did get their act together. It has been easy to get auto loans and the mortgage done through the credit union. There have been identity theft issues on two occasions. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm for many financial institutions.
