Hey, fwiw
new member says - feels great so far
At the Access Center and calling the Call Center. Great member service/services.
I was just at your warmester branch to get a new card and I had the pleasure of Ira and Sherry assisting me.
Both employees were extremely pleasant professional and made the transaction so easy!
It's so rare nowadays to get such extremely extraordinary customer service! Ira and Sherry are definitely assets to the company!
I recently called them to find out why I could not log in using my user ID and password. After some back and forth on online chat, I was told to call and I was told that my account was closed as it was dormant. They even took minimum $5 that they require you to maintain the regular share account. When I told them that I have not received a single email or written notice on my account being dormant or of an impending dormancy fee, they could not provide me with any detail as to when the account became dormant or when the notice was sent to my address. When I expressed my desire to bring in new money for the 12 mo. share certificate and whether they could revive my account and restore my $5 regular share balance, the CSR told me that I would have to reapply for membership and they could not do anything to reimburse dormancy fee. That was enough for me to walk away. Many FCUs nickel and dime members with outrageous fees and I do not know how FCUs are regulated by NCUA but it is outrageous what they are getting away with in terms of fees. State regulators cannot do much under their unclaimed property regulations because these are federally chartered financial institutions so the state laws and regulations are pre-empted by federal regulations or laws. I ended up opening 12 mo. CD at Eagle Bank out of MD and I had the smoothest experience.
Customer service is terrible.
I had an account that went dormant within the same month that I was trying to transfer funds.
Customer service denied access.
The information as presented on this site is incorrect. I called the bank on 15 Sept 2022 and it is not open to any residents of the states listed (I am a NJ resident). It's only for PA, and only a few select counties at that.
I have been a customer for over 4 years, never late, never missed a car payment. Needed a small loan, got denied because I am on social security.
Freedom Credit Union has changed from a face to face friendly neighborhood credit union to an "Access Center". The policy for adding on to existing CD's has been rescinded. They have removed the drive thru locations with tellers and replaced them with machines. The machines have limited hours, Monday thru Friday 9 AM to 4:30 PM. No Saturday hours. Not convenient for anyone who relied on the drive thru locations because of age or handicap disability. Call center wait times are excessive. Now they have instituted a third party authorization on every log on by PC. What a pain in the A$$.
fcu was great until pandemic. they closed the building and was drive thru only. every morning i would go before opening only to find a mile long line. be there all day and they close before you get served. i could not access my money. call every day but the phone is never answered. i sent email after email and never got a response. i needed my money to buy a used van and was totally cut off from my own money. repeatedly called main office and same treatment there, no answer ever. finally called and hit the button for opening a new mortgage and guess what?? phone was answered immediately!!! this way of doing business should be illegal. very disappointed. am currently looking to move out of this area, otherwise i would change to a new bank immediately.
