I called about getting an extended Route 66 car warranty. I spoke with 4 different employees about the warranty and what I wanted. The first 3 gave me the runaround. Ms. Lacy Pasic was very helpful and knowledgeable about my questions. She explained my options and sent the paperwork to sign. I just want to thank her for taking care of me without excuses. She is an asset to Georgia United Credit Union.
I have banked with GUCU for many years. I first got involved when I needed a personal loan around 7 years ago. They were easy to deal with and made loan payments easy. I kept my account with them since. My favorite part of their online banking is how I can open separate accounts attached to my main savings account to save for specific goals like a Christmas club. With a couple of clicks, I can move money from one account to another and back if I need to. I have a low interest rate credit card with them as well. With this being attached to my savings, there are no extra fees to move cash into my savings if I need to from my credit card. As long as I use one of their ATMs, I can withdraw cash directly from my credit line as well. Overall, I plan to stay with them long term.
I first opened a joint account with my father when I was 16 years old, and have had an account with Georgia Federal since then. They have been reliable and quick with all my services. They were also able to resolve my issue when someone stole my information and made withdraws from my account. I am satisfied with their friendly customer service, and quick responses with account security, and I give my overall rating of 4.8 out of 5.
My husband gets paid bi-weekly so it can be some seems to be at times along time between paychecks. There is never supposed to be a hold on his payroll check. On two different occasions for what ever reason they put a hold on it without informing him which resulted in a friend having to pay our groceries in the check out and the other incident incurred a $40 fee. On both occasions our credit union took off any fees that were added.
I was very dissatisfied with our bank that I had been with for over 20 years so I started looking into other places to do basic banking. I didn't know you could be part of a credit union with out belonging to a large company or work for he state. Georgia United really surprised me and my husband. They were cheaper on the banking fees and we could do business with ANY credit union any where not just our own.On several occasions we had a few issues that we were unclear about that cost us fees and they reversed the fees with no problem. Being on an extremely tight budget it was good they made sure that my husbands paycheck was available as soon as it was deposited.
