It was established in 1911 and as of March of 2023, it had grown to 286 employees at 23 locations. Heartland Bank (OH)'s money market rates are 10X the national average, and it boasts an A+ health rating.
(1) Money Market account offer advertised on this site, account can not be open online, requires to visit local branch in-person.
(2) From website, when selected "Apply Now", it takes to 3rd party website (andrea.com) which asks to enter personal information, never heard of this company.
(3) Visited local branch in Westerville, OH and I was told that, once joint account is opened, there is no way to remove any member from account.
(4) Note advertised 1.75% rate is only valid for 90 days, and for up to $500K, so when spoken with local banker, they informed to keep balance only till $490K, if balance crosses $500K, then whole account interest rates downgrades, and looses 1.75 interest rates benefits. This was not normal.
I applied online for an account...upon entrance into the Gahanna location to complete my enrollment process I was greeted hastily as the first banker begin to question me and later stated there system is slow and she did not have time. I was passed off to another banker who took my credentials and basically excused me. This is the first time I have ever been treated in this fashion at a reputable financial institution. Normally, your given some paperwork regarding the banks products and services of the account....Nothing! just thank you and goodbye! The following day, later in the afternoon, I phoned the bank as I was concerned as to whether or not the account was established especially since Heartland initially debited funds from my primary banking institution to begin the process and was told by the first banker who pushed me off that she intended to contact me because of other concerns. I paused as I realized this was not the right banking relationship for me. I truly want to believe that in this modern day all people of various backgrounds and color are treated fairly, equally without prejudice and/or racial intentions. I truly do not want to believe or feel like this particular experience falls in a negative category. Moving forward, I sincerely suggest the professional staff of Heartland be mindful of how your service impacts your institution and more importantly how you treat your incoming potential customers..."first impressions are lasting." Ratings are not necessary at this time, thank you.
