Long-time Member With No Plans of Leaving!

My now-husband and I became members of Heartland Credit Union when we were living in Platteville, WI. I was attending college and he was working full-time. We were not yet married but we were both contributing to our household bills. Heartland was so flexible in letting me be added as a joint user of his checking account at the time. It made our life so much easier. Then, when we married, it was a seamless transition to joint checking and joint savings. We actually also added an additional savings account. Shortly after, we went through Heartland for a mortgage. The loan officer was very nice and informative. We had all of our necessary paperwork together and she sat down with us for a couple of hours gathering all of the information that she needed. We put an offer on a house and had the loan approved within a couple of weeks at most. Since then, we have also financed two vehicles through Heartland's auto loans and have had other credit unions try to get us to transfer our loans to them but they have not been able to offer us the same low interest rates that Heartland has. So we will continue to be loyal Heartland Credit Union members for the foreseeable future.

They have a loyalty points program that I have many points accrued on. While I am not very interested in many of the items that I can redeem these points for and therefore have a large amount of points available to me, I have redeemed them a couple of times now for free boxes of checks. This is extremely helpful as I don't really care what my checks look like. As long as they are correct and simple, I am perfectly happy. Who would turn down free checks when I hardly even have to write checks anymore?

Additionally, I use the mobile site often and have even used mobile deposit on a couple of occasions. It's very handy to not have to head to the bank for any check that we happen to receive. However, I don't mind going into the local branch because they are so polite and fast. They always seem to remember us (and my three young children). I don't think I could come up a bad thing to say about this credit union from my experiences with them.
