I've been a member for over 20 years and never had an issue. Can use several ATM networks for free withdrawal. No fees like the big banks.
Just got a call from Namiko, HVCU Customer Service, about half an hour after FedEx had delivered my Roth IRA transfer check to HVCU for deposit to let me know that the check has been posted to my Roth IRA account. This is a first for me with any bank or credit union in terms of being promptly notified of an IRA check receipt and deposit by phone. And while operating under COVID-19 pandemic. Outstanding, to say the least!
I have been with this credit union for approximately 40 years. During that time I have been treated with much respect by all employees. They are always friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. In addition to that, their rates have been very competitive. While many banks charge a fee to have a checking account with them, HVFCU gives interest on their checking accounts. It isn't much, but at least you do not have to pay to leave your money in their bank. Their money market pays a decent amount and they often run specials on CDs which I have taken advantage of in the past. With all that said I highly recommend the HVFCU.
If you live in the Hudson Valley, consider joining HVFCU. Honestly, I have had a great experience with this bank. I've had my account there for almost 20 years and I have very few complaints. I also have an account at Bank of America. Let me tell you that credit unions like Hudson Valley are far more helpful and impressive compared to those huge banks we see everywhere.
I've been a member of HVFCU for 14 years. It's a solid organization that is able to meet all of my banking needs.
Their customer service is second to none. You will not be talking to a robo-banker, nor some call center employee. Further, they are able to offer that small town bank experience while still offering a representative set of products.
Their web site has been newly remade and now offers many of the features found at your larger banks. Most of their offerings have little to know fees associated with them.
All things considered, I couldn't ask for more out of the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
I have had my mortgage through HVCU for almost 4 years and have had a miserable experience. My mortgage was set up incorrectly by HVCU when I closed on my house and is STILL not correct. More than once I have paid additional amounts to try and rectify the situation, which is not easy to do for anyone, and yet today I was informed that my account (which is automatically withdrawn from another account to ensure the funds are there in full and on time) is insufficient to cover the mortgage. How does this happen time and time again?!?!?!?! Because the credit union does not care to take the time to take care of their customers/members.
