They always great you with a hello and smile the branch managers will jump in and help out when the lobby is busy by processing transaction to help with the customers wait time. There was a time when my daughter and I had to go in to discuss some stock paperwork of my mothers and they took the time to explain what was needed if the lady was not able to answer our questions she called another manager or the main office to get us the answer. In the end she was not able to help us with the actual bank stamp due to my mother was not a client but they still took the time and helped us fill out the form so it was correct and explained to us we should take it to the bank that my mother banks at and they would be able to stamp it for us by helping us it sped up the process at my mothers bank in and out it two min.
I have had JDCU for years, beginning in high school as the branch was located in the cafe. I have a savings and checking account. In the earlier years, (2009ish), I had issues with my debit card. The card would not work regardless of the fact I knew I had over $800 in the checking account. I called and received excellent customer service. Very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this branch to anyone.
I overdrafted my account one time. I was hit with a $37 dollar fee. I called and they waived the fee as it was my first time. Overall great credit union.
BEWARE!! My Veteran disabled brother had $15K stolen from his account . After reporting it to the Bank officer in person - I was given a 800 number to call. The call was never returned . Called the Credit union and was told they are working on it - Never got a call back - if you fear identity theft DO NOT put your money here , it is not safe and will not be returned
JDCU has the worst online banking I have ever seen. It's faster to crawl to the bank to make a money transfer than to use their online banking. Every transaction needs confirmation that takes forever (not minutes, but days). Too complicated to transfer money to someone. Going back to BOA, where every transaction is simple and easy!
My wife made a simple decimal point error in an electronic payment. both the bank and CC company were nice and said no problem we will look out for that and you should be all set. That didn't happen. the cc company processed as did the bank after several phone calls and a visit to the bank we were reassured that it would resolve it self and only that account would be affected. ALL MY ACCOUNTS ARE SUSPENDED. THEY USE A THIRD PARTY ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SVC THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. The assistant branch manager explained how it worked He WAS Clueless . I think he made it up because it was not how it works at all. I HAVE NO ACCESS TO MONEY EXCEPT FOR THE $20 IN my pocket
I attempted to create an account online. JDCU has outsourced their web development to Digital Insight/Andera. Digital Insight apparently has one hell of a sales force, as they managed to sell total crap to JDCU. After 20-30 minutes, the very poorly designed web portal crashed, leaving me with absolutely no idea the status of my application, or how to resume. I emailed JDCU and am awaiting a response.
Overall, very very poor experience so far.
EDIT: I followed up by going into a branch. I eventually got the help I was looking for, but it took way too long. I am interested in knowing how JDCU plans to ever make a profit when they're spending 7% plus man-hours for my money.
EDIT 2: Well over a week later. Still no response from JDCU. The check I sent them remains uncashed. What a terrible joke. If you're considering joining, don't. If you're already a member, pull out all but $500. It's a good thing my draft shares are insured.
Had a dispute with this credit union when a co-trustee who complained to this credit union about a non-existent dispute involving a non-existent investment plan that we two trustees differed on. He requested that the credit union side with him and freeze the money, which they did, failing to notify me until I attempted to use the account. Fifteen months later, there are eleven other heirs wondering where their money is.
