I recently opened a 60 month CD @4.55. The process was easy, customer service very accessible.
The membership restrictions are limited, but for those who qualify, this is a good rate during this time of declining rates.
With Lone Star having a 5 star rating here and a 4 star rating on BAUER this sold me on finding a desirable institution with great CD rates. The folks are great to work with and their process was smooth even though unique with several steps to apply but with responsive replies. Also very secure communications which was comforting.
In reviewing the HEALTH Grades below also provided a deeper assessment. They are quite small but was established in 1967. One concern I had was their levels of consumer loans to business loans. Their agent informed me they don't do business loans at all. They have a nice performance report on their site that is updated frequently and I did find their 2023 Financial report. They do have membership restrictions so review that info.
I recently purchased a 5yr CD with a 5.15 APY. Once I got approved to be a member, purchasing the CD was easy. The 1yr CD has an APY of 5.35 and 3yr has an APY of 4.73%.
