Good Customer Service And Decent Rate
Took a second try to open an account. Three identity questions are totally worthless, asking something occurred more than 30 years ago, who remembers that far back!

Checking Review
I just recently opened up a new checking account online with NBKC. I live in a different state than the states they are in but they allow anyone in the USA to open an account online. They have a huge ATM network (utilizing the MoneyPass network) and allow cash deposits at any deposit ready money pass ATM. They also pay interest on your checking with no minimum balance and refund up to 12.00 a month in any ATM charges you might incur for using another banks ATM machine. You get your first box of checks for free which is great for me because they will last me for years. The online banking and mobile app are by far my favorite things about this bank so far. Very secure and safe easy to use and I can do anything I need to do with my money using their great features. Another great thing about this account is there are NO FEES...No overdraft or NSF fees no declined card or monthly fees no bill pay fees no replacement atm fees no fees is great. Their customer service is good they are very knowledgable and quick to answer any questions you may have. I am super happy so far. Great bank for anyone no matter where you live.
They Hold Hostage Your Money
Don’t believe most of these reviews because they’re clearly forced upon getting a loan.
I’m a commercial banking customer and the two months I’ve had this account has been terrible.
I get paid via checks and every time this bank puts a week long hold on my funds. First time, I was told that if I contacted after the check was approved that they would verify the check and release the funds.
So, I did that today after my check was approved yesterday. I’m then told that my check is on hold for a week and if I wait 3 business days, they would consider releasing a portion. When I told them what they told me last month, they essentially gave me a list of excuses why checks go on holds and this is for the sake of my security.
I believe that as much as I believe in the Easter bunny.
Fact is that these people will lie to you about everything and give you every reason to not give you access to your money, while they probably make interest off of all of the funds they hold.
Great Bank
I was looking to move my checking and savings to a bank that had no fees and found NBKC. I have had my accounts with them for a year now and have been very happy so far. Customer Service is great and helpful and my accounts have good interest rates on them. Best of all I have never been charged a fee for anything and I love being able to deposit cash in the ATM when i need to (I use a credit union close by that accepts deposits for NBKC cards) so overall I have been very happy and would advise anyone looking for a fee free account and a great bank to choose NBKC. I have already had family members move to them as well and they are very happy so far.
