What isn't clear, is you cannot have more than 25 transactions in a day. Yesterday, I reached this and received many declined transactions. When I called, I couldn't get a hold of a person. When I finally did get a hold of a person, they said they'd reset the card and I should be good. It was not. I was at a store and tried to purchase food/household items. It declined again. There was no one available anymore when I called back to find out why this was still happening. I had to call the next day (today) to find out they blocked my card and I cannot make more than 25 purchases. They were not concerned about my issues. They were not concerned if I would close my account. My complaints and concerns about their services were not well received. The person on the phone apologized but had nothing further to say. They just do not care about customer service.
I tried to get information about one of this bank’s products. I waited half an hour on hold, listening to repetitive advertisements. Then the software hung up and disconnected the call. Absolute waste of time.
I’ve been an Affinity Plus customer for 30 years and they have done nothing to deserve my business. I’ve applied for loans twice and the rates they offered weren’t competitive. I had to wire some money to secure an apartment for a relative and they made me wait for over an hour, first at the drive through, then the lobby, then the phone. They said I could do it online but that was impossible and no one had the time to help. I wrote a check and sent it by overnight mail costing $34.
The bank has a practice of changing its interest rates without notifying the customers whereas the current rate is not even displayed in your account details -so you have to look at your statement (at the end of the month to know if it had changed at the beginning). This is a quite typical gimmick to keep unsuspected customers' accounts often at low rates. Be aware.
