I have been banking with First National Bank for a while now and love the free checking and customer service. I recently made a mistake on one of my electronic deposits through my phone. I emailed customer service and alerted them of the error and they responded back within 24 business hours. They were courtesy and friendly without making me feel like a failure for my mistake. I enjoy that I am able to make deposits to my checking account or savings account from my phone. The only suggestion I would ask or mention is the length it takes for these deposits to be available within the account is a little longer than depositing through the bank itself. After making the mistake on my deposit it makes sense because they need to double check the amounts.
I've been a customer - savings account, checking account, applied for a mortgage, credit cards, etc. - all with First National. I know they're not the smallest of 'local banks' - but they are our local bank in Omaha. They've been here forever and they're headquartered here. The bank has really been okay - they don't offer great rates, they don't offer the best mortgages, but they are convenient in that they have branches throughout the entire community. I honestly have had decent experiences with customer services folks, but they took forever to have a mobile app and their website still is not mobile friendly. It's kind of a pain in the butt, but it is also okay because I expect smaller community banks to not have everything the big banks have right away. With the globalization of finance, it's becoming easier to not use the local bank and I foresee someday getting away from using FNBO.
This bank called me one day and asked if I was making some small online purchases. I said no and they informed me that they caught some unauthorized purchases and would stop them right away. They did just that and I got every penny back immediately. Another example of the customer service would be the time that Target had a security breach and they just automatically sent us new cards to prevent any issues. I have always had cheerful, helpful and informed people to deal with. This bank is as professional as any bank could be.
They have taken unauthorized duplicate payments from our checking acct. for months refuse to acknowledge it. They kept us on hold for nearly 3 hours, still refusing to acknowledge a problem, blaming our bank. When my husband asked to speak to a supervisor, the customer service rep yelled at him and hung up, after all that waiting. We wasted an entire morning on the phone with no resolution.
i had a first national bank american express card and had a perfect payment history. I aquired another credit card and bought a new car and without even giving me notice they cancelled my account. There is no collections on my credit and no late payments on any of my accounts. Talk about loyality and being left high and dry on a vacation. I was warned by other people not to use them and I am now warning you that this bank is BAD NEWS !!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!! AND THEY SEE NO-ONE AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER !!!!!
