Rebranding In September

Posted by: |

Not exactly a review. Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union plans to change its name to Liberty Federal Credit Union in September.

Great Credit Union But Not Perfect

Posted by: |

We switched over 3 years ago because of the 3.3% interest rate they pay on checking account. We make more money on this than we ever could on any savings or other checking accounts. For just a direct deposit monthly and 15 swipes of your card you will receive that rate.
Also contacting them for any small issues is easy and friendly.

We also did a refi with them in summer on 2020 which started in april and finally closed in July of 20 which seemed excessively long. No issues with payments or anything else. However this year when refi rates dropped again they had a program to allow you to modify your rate except they said ours did not qualify! So sadly we had leave them for another company and a .6% drop in rate.

I continue to get disappointed by Evansville teachers federal credit Union I've been a member for at least 6 years I attempted to apply for an auto loan today after being told I could not I will get that representative name soon, called the 2nd time and representative assisted me very professional. Seems that I have received some sort of prejudice from the misleading 1st representative I was told they used TransUnion too to consider an approval p my score is in the high 6 hundreds hundreds and when they ran my score they said it was in the low 6 hundreds My scores updated using their app as well so how they pulled a different score that's not TransUnion I don't know TransUnion 679 they said 619 TransUnion it's robbery and misleading utterly disgusting.

Terrible, Supervisor Will Not Call Me Back

Posted by: |

We opened several accounts at ETFCU; however, one issue required that we speak to a supervisor. I've been waiting for a returned call for over a week and I've called twice more checking in on when I would be called. Crickets. We are closing our accounts and leaving. I dare them to try to charge me an earlier account closing fee. Terrible service!!! Don't waste your time, they just want your deposits and nothing more. This place behaves like a bank!

WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE EVER

This credit union has charged me a fee on credit card when I paid statement balance 2 times. That is unacceptable. When my mom writes me a check on teachers the call her every time. She has been writing checks to me through them for 17 years yet they still call her. Now they have sent the police to her house asking her about the checks she writes people. They had a list. Protecting elders is wonderful but this is harassment . I have been there 2 times with her while she talks to them and tells them who she writes checks to. We are leaving teachers this month. We will let everyone know how they treat people. I have been in the banking business for 20 years and never witnessed such harassment on a senior. Maybe her attorney can explain that she has her faculties.

Excellent Credit Union

Vertical Checking is both profitable (high rate) and modern (in technology and gadget for status of meeting monthly requirement).

The only issue I had was the Equifax-only credit check in addition to ChexSystems verification. No flexibility with other TU or Experian credit bureaus.

One has to be vigilant to access their site monthly as one of the monthly requirements.

Upset Customer

Talked to four different customer service representatives to resolve an auto payment. Four different stories on why it wasn't paid....but never their fault...Payment was not paid even though it had been authorized. This cost me $20.00 from the bill due. I will be changing banks.

Excellent Opening Experience

After reading many reviews and @csmith77 I opened with Evansville Teachers FCU and it was very easy to open online with docusign for signing documents Received a online confirmation of approval and what to expect and a number to contact if I had questions.

Following day I decided to call to get some questions and during that call was able to get member information after validating my and wife's info. With login details.

Very friendly representative. She stated for first few months there are limitations on Remote Mobile deposits and external ACH in and out. Can be higher by calling back in a few months.

Initial limits:
Mobile Deposits:
3k daily, 7k weekly, and 15k monthly
ACH IN
4k daily, 4k weekly, and 10k monthly
ACH Out
2k daily, 2k weekly, and 5k monthly

She stated that I can go to another Credit Union with my member # and use full services and deposit money without limitations. She offered to find my nearest Credit Union that would allow me do that. There was a credit union 6 miles away that I could do full services to make deposits, withdrawals, etc. Very nice.

Again, very friendly experience and look forward to doing business with them.

I recently opened a new rewards checking account with Evansville Teachers FCU and was amazed at the speed and professional quality of the sign on process. They used a Docusign program to sign the required document. I was approved and able to sign on to the on-line banking program all on the same day. I only needed to call CS to get my on-line banking initial logon and password. The customer service was excellent.

Closed My Account Due To A Couple “Suspicious” Transactions.

Posted by: |

I had a checking account open with them for about two years frequently able to make external transfers in and out of my account with out an issue. Recently two pull transaction would not go through because they for whatever reason could not verify the my external accounts. They then contacted me and told me they would have to close the account and did not give me the option to work with them to help with the verification process. The risk management team is obviously too risk averse which doesn’t help anyone.

Tech-savvy and Friendly Credit Union

I've been with ETFCU for a little over a year now since moving to the area and I've been very impressed with their services as my credit union. The staff is always friendly, there are several convenient locations, and I like the products they offer. I have a savings and checking account with them. It's always easy to go into a branch and deposit or withdraw money from the tellers but they also offer smart teller stations where you're connected to a live teller via camera which is great. The ATM accepts cash and counts it in real time for added convenience. Their mobile app is also great to see current balances and make transfers between accounts. I've been very pleased with my credit union.

Love My Credit Union

I've been banking with Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union since January of 2017. I have used several credit unions in the past when I lived out of state but this one has been the best by far. Their Vertical Checking account provides an awesome 3.00% APY and they also provide cashback offers for different restaurants and merchants around town. Their customer service is top-notch and I genuinely enjoy using their services. Their new home office is beautifully built and they seem to be concerned with making sure they have the most recent technology as well as a modern design and comfortable surroundings. The customer service representatives were very helpful and friendly when setting up my most recent checking account and making changes to my current account. I'm so glad to have found ETFCU and I hope to remain a member for many years to come.

ETFCU is a good choice

We have a savings account here at this credit union. Our initial visit to set up an account was kind of long. It was on a Friday and the tellers were more interested in chit chatting than getting us in quickly. They did apologize for our wait and offered a drink and snack. We set up our account with no issues. We have part of our paychecks directly deposited into that savings account each payday and we have never had any issues. They have been very good about sending us account updates and changes made for customers. I prefer to do all my banking here!
