Just Found My Account Got Blocked Today

Just found my account got blocked today. The last successful login was about one week ago, and now suddenly I can't get in.

Sister opened an account to take advantage of interest rate. First email she received from Milli changed interest rate by .8%.

Strike One And I'm OUT!

Posted by: |

My new member application was denied. It was submitted from the app (apparently the only way to do so) and involved only a few standard questions that you might expect. There was NO proof of identity step. I am fortunate in life to have a decades long excellent credit record and no past that might trip an identity concern, so I sent an email to see if I could get some human intervention like another person in the comments. Good news is that I received a response within minutes on a Sunday, bad news it that it was a canned message as follows:

"Hey XXXXX, thanks so much for reaching out. Unfortunately, if you received a denial, we will be unable to open an account with Milli for you at this time. At Milli, we consider a variety of factors to determine account eligibility. We understand that you might be curious what these factors are but, for security reasons, we can't share the complete list of criteria we use. Maintaining the security and confidentiality of our evaluation methods is very important to us and our aim is to ensure fairness and equality in the assessment process for all of our applicants. We appreciate you time and interest in Milli Bank.”

How sad. I was ready to deposit a huge chunk of money with them, which I assume is the only reason that they are in business. There will be another bank that appreciates my business and actually has customer service with a pulse.

If you decide to give them a try, HA, don't hold your breath. Then, if you do get approved, have backup finances with a proven institution should a technical glitch happen somewhere and there is no reliable human to help at Milli Bank...

Declined With No Good Reason

I have accounts on many reputable banks, I don't know why I'm not good for this one, except for my nationality (I'm permeant resident of USA, not a citizen yet)

Do Your Homework On This Bank!

Posted by: |

I have run across three sites that offer 5.5% interest on savings accounts: Betterment, Milli Bank, and Poppy Bank. Betterment is NOT a bank, Milli is a bank but, in checking on them online decided NOT to try them, and finally Poppy Bank. I researched Poppy Bank, found them to be extremely credible, went with them, and now declare them to be the best bank on interest rates in the US. I have no first hand experience with Milli Bank, but would suggest doing your homework on them before applying.

STOP! RUN FROM MILLI NOW!

Made two deposits to online Milli. After six days, the transfers have still not been credited to Milli account, even thought online customer service person, Leslie, guaranteed the transaction would go through. After reading the reviews on this site, I realize I may have lost thousands of dollars to this scam bank.

Restricted Mine And My Son's Account 4+ Months

Posted by: |

I opened my account first . The opening was fast and smooth. So I referred my son. He had no issue opening the account. But suddenly, I noticed Mille put a restriction on my account. Mille soon did it on my son's too.

We both tried to reach Milli ho help app text customer services and emailed Mille customer service. After the 'roba" said , "forward to the investigation dept and they will contact me within 3 days." No one ever contacted me for four months. ANd the roba customer stopped responding to me completely. Same to my son.

After four+ months, restriction was removed off my account. I immediately move the $ out. ( I had a very large deposit. ). Withdrawals had no issues. But Milli still did not remove the restriction off his account. He emailed Mille a complaining letter and told them they would file a complaint with Federal Commission and BBB and go on media. Guess what? First time ever, he received a response. and his account was unfrozen about 1 week later. I dont even know how Milli can exist in the banking business????

Do Not Use This Bank

Posted by: |

I tried to pull money into the bank and a few days later, my account got frozen. I was told it was being investigated for potential illicit use.
I tried reaching out and all I receive is that they will get back to me. Everything people say is true about this bank. they will freeze your money
maybe not at first but after they have enough or your money.

Personal Information Gathering Scam

Posted by: |

Milli collection ALL the possible information and showed up "sorry" screen, immediately blocking my account after each login. What a disgrace!
Is any legal way to demand them deleting all the provided personal info?

Don't Waste Time On Milli

Ok so I had literally ended up having a decent amount in the account and then all of a sudden it says restricted, when I reach out to them they say that their fraud team is looking into it I try to talk to someone on the fraud team and they say they transfer someone to me but never do, it's literally been almost 3 months since it's Restricted, I don't know what's going on, one day I was able to get ahold of someone and they said to wait until it gets into manual review but I'm like are you serious it's been 2 months going on 3 what do you mean. Then I go onto my account 2 days ago and find out my money on there has been taken and now left with a negative balance, I am so pissed. NEVER use milli

Basically Couldn’T Transfer Any Money Out.

Scary Level Of Customer Service - Don't Use

Posted by: |

Tried to use Milli and their address verification didn't work. Tried their support multiple times and they really just don't seem to care. Can't escalate, can't inform their people, can't fix it, can't manually verify, nothing. Then I started to do some digging online and find that people get their money locked up and can't withdraw it, and can't access support for that either. I think this is one that's best to just stay away from. You could end up stuffing money here and never getting it back without a fight.

Don't Do It!

Posted by: |

Wow, I would never have thought a bank could be so bad. Truly remarkable. They will steel your money for two full weeks before depositing it into your account. If I wanted a CD I would have bought a CD. What is this, 1950? Two weeks! Lots of other online savings accounts paying the same rate. Do yourself a favor and avoid Milli like the plague.

Do Not Use This Bank - You Will Lose Your Money

I had the same experience of others here. I initiated a transfer from my main bank and it never arrived (2 weeks later it’s still “pending”). Today I got an email saying that my account is “restricted” and I cannot access my accounts with Milli at all. Milli has the traits of being an elaborate scam. Do not use this bank.

If this happens to you - call your main bank where you transferred money from and dispute the transfer. This will hopefully give you your money back.

DO NOT USE THIS BANK

The mobile app has been unusable for days after a required update that failed repeatedly. After uninstalling the app to reinstall, the entire install fails. I cannot even access the Play Store information to leave a review. Customer service is virtually nonexistent. Do NOT put your money here.

New User, But Perfectly Happy

Milli is a great option for competitive Savings accounts. There is an option for moving money over to a spending account, but since that doesn't give you any interest, it's not the reason I would recommend joining Milli as a customer. You can set aside your savings into what they call "Jars" and they accrue the same interest, but you are just splitting your savings into different goal oriented mini-accounts with the option for target amounts and dates and contribution reminders to give you incentive to save. It's a simple and neat concept. The regular savings account can be linked to other accounts via Plaid and I've had no delays in getting money transferred in a timely manner into or out of the Milli account. I would take the extremely critical reviews with a pinch of salt since the reviewers tend to throw their whole life story into it and it detracts from the bank's capabilities and service.

Overall, I've got no complaints and I'm happy to be earning over 5% APY.

*Update: They just announced that rates are dropping from 5.50% to 4.75%. No longer a leader in the market as far as rate. I'll be shopping around for someone over 5% again.

Worst Period Of My Life

Posted by: |

A family member recommended me to milli. He never had any issues with them and seemed to be fairly happy with them. However, as soon as I transferred my funds from my bank to milli’s savings account, milli “restricted” my account.

I received an email saying that my account had been restricted and that I needed to email them or message them on their app. I was not told why my account had been restricted but that it just simply was. What followed, was what i would describe as the worse 3 weeks of my life. I would email milli, receiving messages like “the support team will reach out to you in 1-2 business days.” That day never came.

For the first six days my money was not in my home bank and was not showing up in milli either. Imagine looking at your life saving account and seeing nothing there and no phone number, no customers service representative to help you. I would email milli every day, sometime several tmes a day to geth through for someone to help me. How I am supposed to pay my bills, groceries, living expenses? I finally called the First National Bank of Omaha which the the bank the milli operates under and they told me that they could see my account, but could not connect me to a customer service rep from them. They had no number for this sub-division that could help me. Think about that for 2 seconds. There was literally no phone number to call and beg for help. This went on for weeks.

I have never been so emotionally, mentally, and physically stressed and angry at the same time. Some people have a decent experience with milli. Good for them. I just wish I would have read a review like this one before transferring a large chunk of my life savings into their savings account. There are other online banks with high yield savings that actually have a customer service number. I would not wish the experience I had with milli to my worst enemy. God bless.

They Are Horrible

Posted by: |

Please do not use them. They basically froze my money when I tried to transfer some of it to another bank from within their app. They never respond to chats and you can’t call them. Better to store your money in any other bank or under your mattress.

Worst Online Bank

Posted by: |

Hi, they froze my account due to ach income wire failure... And than i learned no phone support, no live chat, no live emails. Kept my money frozen for 4 days. worst experience i ever had with any bank.

If I Could Give A Zero Rating I Would.

This bank encourages you to add bank accounts for transfers. And as soon as you do and make a transfer, they lock your account for fraud. And do it at the very end of the business day.
They have no one you can call.. The chat and email communication is only available during an 8 hr period. I've banked with over 20 different institutions.
This is the worst banking experience I've seen!

The HYSA isn't worth the trouble when you have zero customer service. It's takes 4 hrs once they do open at 8:30 CST just to respond. If I were FNBO, I wouldn't attach my business name to the garbage bank.

Excellent Rate, But Mobile App Only

Had no issues with opening account,
but one minor issue with an external account.

milli offers a SPEND and SAVE account
I linked an external account with ABA number
and SAVE account number, as a "saving" account.

The transfer went through, but there was a "coding error"

Apparently, although milli calls them SPEND and SAVE internally
they are coded a "checking" accounts for ACH.
Therefore, if linking an external account check box for "checking" for both

Do Not Recommend

I applied for an account and was declined. No reason was provided. When contacting customer service, the assistant was unable to provide a reason why the account application was declined. I would not recommend using this particular financial institution for any type of financial services. Many times, online financial services providers are worse than actual brick and mortar banking institutions.

They Block Accounts At Random!

Posted by: |

I recently recommended Milli to my wife and within hours of her opening an account, we got an email saying that due to some 'highly unusual activities' in the bank account we had linked, they had restricted her Milli account. They asked for a bank statement to prove ownership of the linked acc, which we promptly sent. It's almost a week now and her account is still blocked! Firstly, what is so unusual about money coming and going in a checking account, and secondly, why block people's savings if you don't have enough staff to review the documents we send?! Beware!

Worst Experience Ever

I attempted to fund my account my first linking to a bank account using Plaid. Now I have used Plaid before and if it doesn’t work once it will normally work eventually. Well, with this Milli it never works even though I receive emails from my Wells Fargo bank saying it connected. When contacting customer support only one rep would answer my questions. Tech support is supposed to contact you within the hour. Never was contacted and still haven’t been. Plus, they don’t accept wire transfers!!! So, I can’t even wire them money.
